Job Description:

* Candidates will spend a 6-9 months Fort Wayne, IN for training, then move to Denver where they would spend the next 12+ months working in Denver
* Main customer interface for ABI Spacecraft Activity
* Supports all observatory I&T; meetings
* Provides daily status to the L3Harris, Lockheed Martin, and Customer community
* Supports the on-site team by facilitating needs through the remote support team
* Represents ABI to Spacecraft interface at GOES-R program reviews
* Strategic four-week look ahead at planned observatory operations
* Alerts the L3Harris remote team of observatory I&T; plan changes
* Identifies integration and test risks and works with remote team to resolve and protect ABI program interests
* Manages on-site execution scope of work
* Supports all spacecraft and launch Working Groups, coordinates appropriate SMEs as necessary
* Keeps track of all requests and task for the Spacecraft team both internal and external and drives them to closure
* Responsible for successfully leading the execution of Space System project teams to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule
* Provide leadership to project teams to manage project execution to meet customer-satisfaction goals and objectives
* Reviews status of project budgets and manages schedules
* Understands how to use Earned Value (EV) to guide the success of a project
* Supports other on-site activities, as required

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience or graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience
* Experience across a product engineering lifecycle
* Experience in influencing changes to practices, processes and approaches to improve execution across an organization

Preferred Additional Skills:

* Experience leading government programs
* Demonstrates proficiency in leading and managing a portfolio of complex and interdependent and independent activities
* In-depth knowledge of project management
* Familiarity with space flight programs and standards delivering optical payloads
* Experience in complex, multi-discipline programs including but not limited to; optical, mechanical, electrical, systems, software, and thermal engineering with a background in space systems
* Ability to communicate inside and outside of an organization at all levels
* Experience leading a multi-disciplined team of engineers, technicians, etc.
* Work closely with Project Engineer, Program Manager and Chief System Engineer
