Basic Qualifications

5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.- Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelors Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Preferred Qualifications

* Ideal candidate should have great communication (verbal and written), creativity and critical-thinking skills; ability to review governing documents to ensure owned procedures are in compliance; work well with others to collaborate solutions. This position offers an opportunity to gain exposure to other programs in the yard, learn more about the shipyard value streams and waterfront processes, and expand network of contacts within NNS and SUPSHIPNN. Background or experience in quality is not required, although familiarity with the below is a plus:

* * Knowledgeable of the general processes and operations of the shipyard
* Proficient writing skills
* Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external Customers
* Ability to apply Critical-thinking and Root Cause Analysis to work structure
* Ability and willingness to adapt and be agile to support all facets of Quality
* Identify gaps and implement improvements as necessary to ensure all requirements are met
* Command Media guidelines and procedure development
* SAP and the initiation of QNs and tasks
* Standard Clauses and Coded Notes
