JOB SUMMARY

Under general direction of the Manager of Information Technology Customer Service Support (IT CSS), the Desktop Support Analyst works with a team to provide support for hardware devices, such as laptops, keyboards, mice and other peripherals. This support encompasses the Health Park campus and extends to a tiered Incident Management approach for Practices designated as those in scope for Physician Services Group (PSG).

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities include:

Respond to Tier II PSG enterprise support requests in person or remotely as required

Areas of oversight include:

Enterprise hardware and software deployment and quality control

Hardware and software troubleshooting

Software upgrades/deployments/release management

Patch management, encryption, and antivirus

Evaluate and make recommendations meeting HCA Healthcare ITG standards for software, hardware, or mobile devices

Assists enterprise end user community in the proper use of endpoint systems

Responsible for installation, upgrade and configuration of network printers

Provide assistance with audio/visual equipment as needed

Advise and support PSG leadership and executive staff

Provide enterprise endpoint security guidance and ensure all PSG devices meet HCA Healthcare security standards

Develop enterprise documentation related to ITG PSG support and standards

Create and/or deliver internal cross-training and/or end-user training on a variety of technology and standards

This position requires strong people management skills, personal drive, and the ability to see strategy through to task completion in a matrix-reporting environment. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills are required.

EDUCATION

Bachelors Degree - Preferred

Technical Training

Other as Noted: CompTIA A+ and/or similar certifications - Preferred

OTHER/SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

A thorough knowledge and understanding of current and emerging technical services technology

Strong technical skills in configuring, installing, and troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows (all versions), Microsoft Office suite, antivirus software, TCP/IP, encryption software, and imaging software as well as experience in troubleshooting peripherals and handheld devices

Strong understands of technical support processes and workflow

Understands pertinent HIPAA guidelines

Analytical skills and detailed organizational skills

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Strong demonstration of customer orientation

Experience using remote desktop management tools

Experience using an enterprise ticketing solution

Knowledge of local area networks

Knowledge of IMAP, DLAP, Microsoft ActiveSync, Active Directory, Group Policy, WINS, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP

Demonstrated ability to work in stressful situations

Strong competency of PC use and required tools

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Requires lifting of up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work is performed in an office environment. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people. Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations. Occasional travel among ambulatory PSG facilities in the PSG divisions may be required.
