Job Title: Project Accountant

Job Summary:

The primary responsibilities of this position are to fulfill and support the project review process for the Irvine, San Diego, Bakersfield, Nevada and Phoenix branches.

It is essential that the person in this position establish and maintain a good working relationship with all levels of management and staff of Mesa Energy Systems, Inc., while developing a professional, customer-friendly relationship with our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Schedule monthly project review meetings and issue project sheets to all applicable project managers.
* Update Estimated Cost to Complete upon completion of the project review meetings and send out meeting minutes. Fill in for the Manager of Project Accounting in leading the project reviews, if necessary.
* Follow-up on open action items from Project Review meetings. Follow-up to include working with the Project Managers, Project Assistants, A/P and other Accounting Personnel.
* Work with liaison from Nor Cal to gather information to complete the weekly reports and get through the monthly closings.
* Assist with month-end close process
* On a monthly basis, close completed jobs in ERP System
* On an annual basis, inactivate completed jobs and perform other related clean up items within the ERP System
* Prepare monthly forecast
* Create and fill out necessary risk assessment forms when a job is booked where applicable
* Track and follow-up on risk assessment values for projects greater than $250K.
* Assist with both internal and external auditors for project related requirements.
* Assist with correcting billing if needed

Qualifications:

* 5 years' experience in working in business administration.
* 2 years' experience in project accounting
* Understanding of Coins Accounting Software is a plus.
* Understanding of WIP and construction-based accounting in general is required
* Self-motivated and a good communicator, both written and oral.
* Must have excellent planning, organizational skills and be self-driven
