Job Summary

Responsible for the development, planning and implementation of the 5G wireless operations and performance management subsystems with the existing Comcast NOC and operational infrastructure. Accountable for the development of all FCAPS (fault, configuration, accounting, performance and security management) processes and procedures that define how Comcast will operate and maintain the end-to-end wireless ecosystem after the network reaches acceptance. Lead the team that will develop and implement the processes, procedures, and tools that will be utilized by a national network operations center (NOC) to perform the unique functions associated with a 5G wireless network. Network survivability, change order management, software upgrade and product life cycle management process are included in the positions responsibilities. Responsible for the initial design and implementation of future products and applications. Analyzes and evaluates solutions both internally generated as well as third party supplied. Develops novel ways to solve problems, provides guidance and leadership to more junior researchers. Collaborates and influences immediate team members and collaborates cross functionally. Deciphers tasks into functional components and delegates to other members of the team. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams or projects and shares expertise.

Job Description

* Based upon the program scope as defined by the business and technical requirements, develop the necessary processes and procedures to implement the wireless ISO FCAPS model within the existing Comcast NOC and operational subsystems.
* Works with the wireless Deployment Program Manager to create the appropriate network operational development & deployment program plans. Facilitates and drives the Comcast, partner and other support teams to develop an end-to-end FCAPS operational process all the while managing upstream and downstream dependencies.
* Leads a team of cross-functional departments (architecture, deployment, NOC and other business units) to create requirements and assess monitoring / performance management tools that will be deployed. Ensures team clearly understands roles and responsibilities for the duration of the program.
* Draft the appropriate RFPs to analyze and eventually select the Fault and Performance Management tools needed by the NOC to operate and maintain the 5G wireless ecosystem.
* Recommends Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that the NOC and other operational support organizations would utilize to manage the networks operational integrity.
* Lead the integration efforts into Comcast existing NOC and operations teams for each of the developed processes, procedures and tools associated with the 5G wireless ecosystem.
* Guides the successful completion of high profile, revenue impacting programs. May serve as a leader to others on assigned projects.
* Determines the objectives of an assignment and develops solutions to high profile, revenue impacting and complex problems. Organizes and maintains resources.
* Tests and evaluates solutions presented to the Company by various internal and external partners and vendors. Completes case studies, testing and reporting.
* Represents the work team and organization as the prime technical contact on assigned projects.
* Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Skills/Experience:

* Strong technical understanding of the LTE system architecture.5G exposure is a plus.
* Excellent analytical skills for extracting, processing and manipulating data. Excellent user of MS Excel, Access and SQL.
* Good understanding of Operational and Customer Experience issues related to Mobile Radio Networks.
* Strong understanding and competence in using Operational, Performance and Incident tools (Business Objects, Netcool, NetAct, Traffica, Performance Management Tools, Geo-Location Tools, Self-Organizing Network Tools).
* Business analysis skills, ability to document requirements for IT Tools and formulate business cases for investment.
* Process improvement experience (Eg Six Sigma).
* Experience in working on a project team delivering and integrating, new Operational, Performance and incident tools.
* Technical Ability - Must have in depth knowledge and understanding in the new technology, services and platforms. Able to undertake complex analysis of telecom/IT technology based problems.
* Performance - Comprehensive grasp of Key Performance Indicators and measures used to assess service quality within the LTE network systems and subsystems.
* Planning and Organization - A self-starter, must be able to prioritize workload and ensure delivery of aggressive targets and timescales. Continually reviewing plans to keep on track with rapidly changing goals.
