Job Summary

Health and Welfare team, part of the Benefits Design and Planning team is responsible for creating and managing innovative benefit options that attract, engage and retain employees to the Enterprise. Health and Welfare team collaborates and consults with leadership, business clients, HR Business Partners and other HR partners to identify, develop and implement strategic enterprise initiatives that impact benefits and talent management strategies.

The HR Health & Welfare Sr. Consultant I is responsible for assisting in delivering core benefit design & planning initiatives to all plan participants by applying professional judgment, knowledge, experience and perspective. The individual will assist with vendor management, compliance, project management, strategic planning and design and communication. In addition, the individual will assist in the implementation, management and development of innovative solutions that support the business unit strategy and design by applying thought leadership and their subject matter expertise. This includes project planning, execution, timing, functionality, quality, communication, and cost. Plans and Programs may include (but are not limited to) health, time away, life, disability insurance and culture of wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

The individual will assist with internal and external vendor resources in delivery of participant services and is responsible for the following:

Plan/Program Management
Assists in day-to-day administration of the plan/program by demonstrating benefits knowledge
Integrates benefits subject matter knowledge with industry experience, knowledge of professional standards and trends within area of expertise, relevant related disciplines, program/process design principles, and business goals and strategy
Applies strong understanding of competitor/industry practices

Vendor Management
Effectively manages small/single service vendor relationships or owns certain portions of the management of a large/complex vendor
Ensures all vendors are adhering to statement of work, service level agreements and contract terms including costs and out of scope fees. Will bring to management's attention when not in compliance and work directly with vendor to correct
Participates in vendor performance review sessions and audits, assists in the development of contract requirements and performance standards
Provides appropriate and timely feedback to management and/or vendor and make recommendations for process improvements
Gathers inputs for the preparation of Request for Proposals and review responses

Compliance
Participates in review of all plans and programs for compliance with ERISA and applicable federal and state laws. Takes appropriate corrective action as necessary to ensure compliance
Assists in data collection and the preparation of all filing requirements and employee notices
Following law changes or design change, assists in updating all appropriate plan documents, policies and administrative procedures. Coordinates all required changes with vendors
Assists in the development of appropriate communication to participants and internal business partners following law or design changes

Project Management
Manages projects of moderate complexity; structures and implements tactical change
Develops, manages, and executes project plans; including managing project resources and budgets and see project through to completion
Implements new programs with current or new vendors
Provides appropriate project documents, status reports and measurements to leadership
Collaborates with other HR units and business units

Strategic Planning/Design
Understands how the individual strategies link to the overall business unit strategy
Assists in the design of benefit programs/plans that are cost effective, competitive and attract/retain quality employees
Participates in benchmarking processes to evaluate competitiveness of plan design features
Analyzes and interprets data in order to assist in plan/design health and welfare plans and programs; may revise current practices to lead innovation in service and delivery

Job Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance or related area
Experience: 3-5 years of related work experience
Professional with solid organizational, communication and administrative skills
Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Health and Welfare plans
Intermediate/advanced analytical skills
Intermediate vendor and project management skills
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
Ability to integrate subject matter expertise by having industry experience in benefits and knowledge of operational processes
Intermediate/advanced time management skills including ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and organize
Intermediate business writing skills
Ability to establish and leverage relationships with internal and external partners
Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of business software and knowledge of SAP
Creative thinking and problem solving
General understanding of HR strategy, policies, and integration points

The minimum salary for this position is $59,500. The salary offered will be commensurate with experience.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
