The Wire Harness Engineering group is currently seeking an experienced Wire Harness subject matter expert to join their team in El Segundo, CA.
The position provides subject matter expert (SME) guidance in the development of cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs, development of electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs. Will provide SME direction to multiple teams to analyze complex results and performs design reviews. The position will also provide guidance in engineering design disposition on discrepancies; defines processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities. Will lead multiple teams to develop complex statements of work, metrics, schedules and budgets. Directs the technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection. Directs the development of functional and physical design requirements to ensure complete integrated design architecture. Works under consultative direction.
Position Responsibilities:
* Supports the development of cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs. Analyzes results and performs design reviews.
* Develops and maintains guidance for electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs
* Provides engineering technical design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
* Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
* Develops and executes moderate to complex statements of work.
* Participates in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
* Analyzes functional and physical input to assure development of complete integrated design.
* Works under general direction
* Travel up to 25%
This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).
Basic Qualifications (Required skills and experience):

* Bachelor of Science in engineering or related technical field.
* Ten (10) or more years with a combination of experience in wire harness design, installation, as a manufacturing liaison and performing anomaly resolution.
* Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications (Desired skills and experience):
* Active Top Secret Security Clearance strongly preferred.
* Degree in Electrical Engineering strongly preferred.
* Masters degree or higher strongly preferred.
* Five (5) or more years of experience in space applications for wire harness.
Typical Education and Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation is available for internal candidates.
