The Boeing team is seeking an Entry Level F-15 Test & Evaluation Engineer located in Eglin AFB, FL. This position and involves working as a member of a high-performance Boeing engineering team supporting F-15 flight test activities. This support will include both Development Test and Evaluation (DT&E) and Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) flight testing. Principal responsibilities will involve configuring and testing of experimental electronics/avionics and weapon/armament systems, with an emphasis on hands-on coordination of flight test operations activities. The support will focus will include integration and evaluation of new hardware systems, as well as, verifying the correct operation of aircraft software upgrades. Daily coordination will be required to plan, communicate, and execute complex test activities. Direct and frequent interaction with Boeing and USAF program managers and technical teams will be required. The ability to perform root-cause analysis/troubleshooting to identify and sort actual problems from non-problems is required. You also will work closely with USAF Customers to assist them with configuring the F-15 aircraft properly for each flight test mission, will work closely with USAF Test Pilots to guide them in how to execute the test missions in flight, and will work closely with aircraft maintenance technicians to assist them with questions about the new systems.
The work of flight test brings new, different, challenging, and exciting projects in a constant flow, so you will be routinely exposed to a wide variety of different and interesting projects. It is a fast paced environment which requires large amounts of personal responsibility, trust, and accountability. Your activities daily will allow you to get hands-on with cutting edge technology where innovative problem solving is embraced. In this position you will have an opportunity to help plan, evaluate, and test the latest electronic and weapons systems that Boeing and other contractors have created for integration onto F-15 fighter aircraft. You will also be actively involved in on-aircraft testing, working autonomously while conducting system checkouts from the cockpit, and troubleshooting any observed problems with the new systems. You will be provided with self-paced on-site training, and structured hands-on experience, to aid in becoming a Subject Matter Expert on a variety of aircraft systems which can range anywhere from onboard radar systems, to electronic jammers, onboard computing systems, radar and IR guided missiles, control systems, jet engines, satellite navigation/communication systems, and encrypted aircraft data networks. Position Responsibilities Include:
* Aircraft configuration planning, on-aircraft audits, and records keeping
* Assisting with test point documentation and tracking
* Assisting with the creation of test mission profiles
* Assisting with writing and reviewing aircrew flight cards
* Attending aircrew pre/post mission briefings
* Providing real-time technical support during test flights from a ground control facility
* Writing various technical results reports
* Performing on-aircraft system checkouts
* Performing on-aircraft engineering mission assurance checks
* Performing on-aircraft troubleshooting of experimental systems for anomaly investigations and resolution
* Performing post mission video reviews
* Working outside in all types of weather conditions will be required
* Attendance and participation in Program Review meetings (ITT, PMR, TPWG; Road Map, Executive Reviews, etc.)
* Attendance and participation in USAF mandated flight test review boards (CCB, ATR/SB, HRB, FTRR, etc.)
* Review/inputs into Mission Planning (JMPS/CFRS/IMIS) and pre-mission Data Module programming.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
* Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry by June 2021
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
* Experience in test and evaluation engineering
* Experience do you have with flight test, flight operations, or system test
* Active Security Clearance
Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
