The Team

Amexs Enterprise Digital Platform (EDP) group strives to deliver a seamless and connected customer experience across all touchpoints with One Amex, a suite of products that enables fast and scalable app development. We apply cutting edge frameworks and open-source principles to help our fellow product, design, tech, and analytics partners solve problems and innovate to deliver a seamless customer experience across channels.

Within the One Amex product suite, the American Express Design Language System (One DLS) saves teams time and resources by providing ready to use front-end components and design guidelines that bring consistency to the American Express customer journey. Containing over 300 plug-and-play components and styles, One DLS supports multiple frameworks and our components are used across more than 90K webpages today. Carefully maintained guidelines provide clear rules as well as best practices to help teams adopt the design system and set the standard in UI design at American Express. By providing One DLS to the all teams across the enterprise, we are able to dramatically improve their strategic agility, speed to market, transparency, and the business value they drive.

The Design System is maintained by a small team of product managers, designers and engineers that are constantly working to evolve the library through user research, testing and ideation.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Product Analyst to join the One DLS team. The Senior Product Analyst works closely with product managers, engineers and designers within and outside of the One DLS team to manage requirements, product backlogs, and evangelize the benefits of the design system.

We are looking for someone who is deeply inquisitive and interested in Product Management as a discipline and has a passion for Design Systems. The person who will thrive in this role is someone who has a strong attention to detail, is organized, enjoys creative problem solving while working at the intersection of business, engineering, and user experience. The One DLS team is a lean, high-performing team focused on providing a useable, scalable Design System to meet the ever-evolving needs of the enterprise.

We are looking for a strong team player who can embrace ambiguity and possesses the flexibility to tackle a broad range of responsibilities in their day-to-day.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and conduct discovery and analysis to support the creation of our product vision, strategy and prioritization frameworks.
* Collaborate with the Senior Product Manager on the product roadmap and ensure the roadmap is always up-to-date and communicated to product leadership.
* Collaborate closely with the TPM to break down product features into user stories, defines acceptance criteria, and ensure the test plan will result in a high-quality products.
* Prioritize the scrum team's backlog and communicate any implications to the roadmap to product leadership.
* Collaborate with the Senior Product Manager to gather and use data and analytics to deliver a great customer experience for our design system.
* Obsess over customer needs - identify opportunities and gaps, and work to address those needs.
* Maintain metrics and key performance indicators to manage product performance and adoption.
* Work closely with engineering, data, analytics and product management teams to deliver results.
* Conceptualize and execute product marketing initiatives for the enterprise.
* Collaborate closely with the Senior Product Manager to plan and prepare product roadshows for major releases.
* Document product decisions and drive process best practice in collaboration with the TPM to maintain the teams productivity.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelors degree or higher in computer science, math, business, or related discipline
* Experience 3+ as a product analyst in an enterprise environment
* Experience working on customer-facing applications with strong focus on UI/UX Design
* Strong understanding of Design Systems
* Agile experience is required
* Strong organizational, technical and creative problem-solving skills. Must work well in a dynamic, complex environment and under deadline pressures.
* A good balance of technical knowledge (front-end development frameworks) and a mindset of driving digital innovation and business metrics with a customer first intent.
* Ability to work with software development teams, data engineers, and data scientists to launch and improve platforms related to content, experience, search & analytics
* Strong written communication skills and the ability to influence other teams
* Experience defining user needs and frameworks for customer facing products

Preferred Qualifications

* Track record of shipping enterprise grade global products
* MBA plus
* Experience working with React
