Job Description

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a SR Analyst, FP&A to join our team at the Parsippany - 22 Sylvan Way location in Parsippany, New Jersey.

Job Summary

The Senior Analyst will be responsible for providing support to management for forecasting and planning for the WHR IT Contact Center / Franchise Support Systems (CC / FSS). Tasks include frequent interactions with the CC / FSS management and IT leadership to review P&L activity as well as review variances to P&L targets. He / she will provide reports to Finance & Hotel Information Technology management in support monthly activity and articulate notable variances and provide recommendations. This position will provide support reporting on key metrics, recording month end financial activity and updating forecasts.
This position will take direction from the Sr. Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to work on projects that achieve identified department goals which in turn align to the WHR corporate goals and strategic plans.
Responsibilities

* Lead in monthly close process for the CC/FSS; review results and research variances to provide explanations, troubleshoot questions/issues.
* Preparation of month-end / quarter-end / year-end actuals reporting and forecast of WHG IT financial results including executive dashboards, revenues and margins, purchased labor, network and telecom usage & miscellaneous expense drivers. Provide analysis and support for annual strat plan and budget process. Track ongoing risks and opportunities.
* Develop and update reporting dashboards highlighting key business drivers (i.e. call volume, PM installations, project initiatives), along with implications on financials (i.e. purchase labor, telecom costs, COS, support tools)
* Preparation of ad hoc analysis ranging from revenue projections, M&A integration activity and expense allocation and cost containment initiatives.
* Ensure billings and expenses are processed and recorded according to Wyndham policies and procedures.

Complexities

A. The level of decision making in this role includes but is not limited to:
1. The decision making ability in this role is moderate as the person will be instrumental in providing analysis that will drive decision making. Thus, it is important for the person to present analysis well. The insights provided have a direct impact on our P&L and future planned expenditures. The position requires a detail oriented individual as well as one with a high level of integrity who has the ability to articulate their work product to management.
2. Monthly expense recording and variance analysis prepared by this position with oversight by the Sr. Director of Financial Planning & Analysis will have a direct impact on our financial results.
3. Monthly reforecasts are prepared by this position with oversight by the Sr. Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. This position must be able to articulate their forecast assumptions clearly.

B. The level of autonomy in this role includes but is not limited to:
1. The autonomy level of this position is high as the Finance department is a fast moving organization. They must have the ability to switch tasks midstream to handle more urgent matters, and then go back at a later time. Speed and accuracy in this position are essential. This role requires a detail oriented individual with a process oriented composition to complete both ad hoc and recurring analyses. The person must have the ability to understand prioritization of tasks, and complete urgent tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
2. The role has a high level of interaction with individuals throughout IT and must be comfortable in articulating and enforcing policies and procedures.

C. The impact of his / her decision making on the organization is moderate to high. The information produced through the various analysis and reporting will be used to record externally reported financial results and be the basis for how future spend should be directed.

Scope

A. Track and review the monthly P&L activity compared to budget (Annual $53M Rev / $78M Expense)
B. Monthly review of all CC / FSS cost centers including 525 employees and over 830 contract laborers

The position requires a constant level of awareness and correlation to how each decision made effects Wyndhams financials. The person in this roll is expected to use his / her visibility into the details of CC / FSS spending to escalate matters and decisions that have an impact the companys financial results. This includes requests for using resources for initiatives implemented by other parts of the organization that may have a temporary and / or ongoing impact on CC / FSS resources. It is essential that this position provide the tools to management to forecast accurately to avoid any potential impact on the company stock price or borrowing ability.
Abilities and Skills

Ability to work under pressure and at a fast pace while not sacrificing accuracy
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines & work collaboratively in the Finance department and with business partners in Hotel Information Technology
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and the ability to perform intermediate functions required
Ability to adapt to changing requests, and be able to prioritize work
Capability to work and complete tasks with little supervision
Ability to defend a position, but be open minded to suggestions
Process oriented to drive efficiencies
Detail oriented

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
Minimum 3-5 years in an FP&A role
Familiarity with Contact / Support Centers, technology finance and / or telecom / network expenses preferred
