Weyerhaeuser is seeking a talented Human Resource Business Partner to join our Western Lumber HR Team. This role will support a unionized manufacturing site in Lebanon, Oregon, with growth opportunities.
In this role, the successful candidate will be required to build relationships with the site leaders and understand the business operations from both the strategic and tactical perspective.
The successful candidate will need to diagnose organizational issues, develop solutions, and implement HR actions plans in partnership with the site Manager and be willing to take on special projects as needed. This role will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Human Resources functions for the Lebanon (Santiam) mill and is a member of the site leadership team. This position will report to the Western Lumber Regional Human Resources Manager with a dotted line responsibility to the Mill Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
* Role model Weyerhaeuser Key Values including Safety, Integrity, Citizenship, Sustainability, and Inclusion.
* Strategic business partner to the Santiam leadership team as well as the broader Region HR Team.
* Provide top-quality coaching, consultations, and solutions in all areas of HR, including employee relations, talent management, and leadership training.
* Work closely with management and the union to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
* Partner with site leader to develop strategic workforce plans to meet current and future talent needs. Partner with local community high schools, colleges, and universities to create pipelines of future talent.
* Administer and provide guidance on compensation review/planning and performance management processes.
* Partner with leaders to develop and implement diversity and inclusion strategies.
* Responsible for salaried and hourly staffing functions (including sourcing, recruiting, retention, and on-boarding process).
* Promote and encourage innovative thoughts and ideas
* Analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions and programs
* Ensure site compliance with state and federal laws.
Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field.
* 5 years of Human Resources Business Partner or equivalent HR functional experience, a PHR or SPHR, highly desired.
* Previous manufacturing/industrial experience, highly desired.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to travel 25% of the time to other locations, including some overnight travel and flow to work as needed.
* Demonstrated safety leadership.
* Strong coaching and influencing skills.
* Experience in leading change management initiatives.
* Ability to effectively navigate through ambiguous situations.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, assess HR implications and manage details.
* Experience working in a manufacturing and union environment preferred.
* Experience in multiple HR disciplines including compensation practices, employee relations, talent management, diversity, performance management, and federal and state laws.
* Must have strong computer skills and proficient with HRIS systems.
* Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and facilitation skills.
