This position will be part of the Vertical Operational Risk Management team that supports the Home Preservation group within Default Servicing.

The Lending Officer 1 is responsible for managing the overall strategy applied to the quality of decisions made for customer loans for Default Decisioning.

Lending Officers are responsible for approving complex loans in excess of regional, state, business unit or credit officer authority levels. This Lending Officer will be responsible for assisting with, and influencing the overall strategy for, the quality of decisions made within various investor groups

This role will focus on, but is not limited to, researching and problem-solving high risk loans. This includes partnering with others to develop, present and execute on remediation strategies. In addition, the Lending Officer will be responsible for working on larger strategies, where needed, to address opportunities, influence and orchestrate change within the organization.

Functions may include:

* Provide regular updates to leadership and business partners
* Manage issue resolution and partner with all compliance and business teams to ensure necessary action plans are created and executed appropriately.
* Understanding any change delivery or new business requirements, testing activities, and troubleshooting issues.
* Assist in the Change Management process to support Business Driven Initiatives in effort to align all procedures and checklists with process or be able to recommend new business efficiencies.
* Partner with Credit Policy to ensure all applications and procedures are in line with the published policies.
* Partner with Servicing Data and Analytics and the Technology team to create reports.
* Require the ability to work both independently and in a team environment to achieve the desired outcome
* Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring a risk-based program to identify, assess and mitigate any operational risk that arises from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems or external events, while maintaining a balance between risk mitigation and operational efficiency.
* May provide oversight to an operational risk program.
* Works with assigned business units and provides operational risk expertise and consulting for projects and initiatives with moderate to high risk.
* May provide senior-level support for systems security-related issues.
* Develops testing strategies and methodologies; evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems and internal controls; analyzes business and/or systems changes to determine impact; identifies and assesses operational risk issues and assigns risk ratings consistent with established policy standards.
* Consults with business to develop corrective action plans and effectively manage change.
* Identifies training opportunities; may design/coordinate the development of training materials and delivers training.
* Reports findings and drafts recommendations to mitigate risk to operational risk and business line management.
* Coordinates production of periodic operational risk performance reports for senior management, including trend analysis and recommended strategies.

Required Qualifications
* 5+ years of lending experience

* This position requires compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo's compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results.
