Spring Mountain Sahara is currently seeking a dynamic professional to join our team as a Certified Nursing Assistant. (CNA). Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is the clinical staff member who has interaction with patients on a daily basis. They present good communication and observation skills as well as the ability to accurately process and document information. The CNA provides structure and safety to the milieu environment as directed by hospital and unit procedures and manages patient behavior effectively. The CNA instructs, assists, and supervises patients in activities of daily living and provides services that support nurses, teachers, activity therapists, and other departments in various activities.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES:
* Maintains safe environment and appropriate boundaries with clients and staff.
* Performs daily patient care tasks, including feeding and bathing patients, and cleans patient living areas which may include soiled beds and floor area.
* Escorts patients to events away from the facility such as court or other hearings, Emergency Room or clinician office as necessitated by their physical condition.
* Monitors and evaluates patient participation in client treatment activities.
* Assist in providing therapeutic and/or recreational activities.
* Provides structure and direction for educational groups.
* Respond appropriately to supervisor at all times.
* Able to work on all units as deemed necessary by supervisor.
* Comply with all competencies in a timely manner.
* Attend all mandatory meetings and complete all competencies in a timely manner.
* Documentation for patient observation per protocol.
* Work is demanding both physically and mentally; heavy walking and standing while on duty.
ABOUT SPRING MOUNTAIN TREATMENT CENTER:
Spring Mountain Behavioral Services has provided mental health services to the Las Vegas community since 2001, treating children, teens, adults and senior adults with behavioral health or addiction issues. We offer a supportive and healthy environment with 24-hour care that allows people of all ages to make positive changes in their lives. Our primary location, Spring Mountain Treatment Center, focuses on the stabilization of acute symptoms for patients age 5 to 65, along with select outpatient care programs for teens. Our secondary location, Spring Mountain Sahara, houses our Adult Outpatient and Senior Adult Inpatient programs.
Spring Mountain Sahara is primarily for adults age 55 and over. Sahara offers a continuum of acute, inpatient psychiatric care staffed by a multidisciplinary team specialized in the care of seniors. We treat patients who are struggling with or experiencing emotional, behavioral issues such as depression, abrupt behavior changes or thought disturbances that are significantly interfering with their daily life. Our Adult Intensive Outpatient Program is also run out of our Sahara location.

Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
* Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required
* Must have an active CNA license from the Nevada State Nursing Board
* B.S/B.A in behavioral health science preferred
* One year of experience in a psychiatric setting/patient care preferred
* Good communication skills, i.e., reading, writing, and speaking
* Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and stand for long periods of time.
* Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
* Basic PC knowledge and medical terminology
* Must pass ACE Assessment Test
* New hires are required to attend 1 full week of New Employee Orientation on day shift, normally 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday
* Must successfully pass background check (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check) and drug screen
