A Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machines that are used for the manufacture of finished goods. The machines operate at rates ranging from 100 units per minute to 250+ units per minute. The work environment is very fast-paced and requires a high degree of attentiveness and the ability to react quickly to work place variables. In addition to operating machines, operators will have duties and responsibilities as outlined below.

Major tasks include:

Advocate and practice the principals of the Safety program and avoid equipment hazards as defined in operating procedures

Participate in plant safety committee meetings and activities

Operate packaging equipment such as robotics, filling machines, case packers, labelers, etc.

Monitor quality or product in manufacturing and packaging areas to include OTMIS (off the mill in spec), cycles, fill levels, package appearance, fill weights, and raw material certificate of analysis

Report any quality issues to supervisor or Quality Assurance lab personnel

Reading and following instructions in all areas of the production floor, manufacturing, packaging, etc.

Participate in house keeping activities that are indicative of a safe and clutter free work environment

Basic Qualifications:

Must be able to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English

Must have the legal right to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship now or in the future for employment visa status

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must have access to reliable transportation

Must be able to work overtime with or without reasonable accommodation

Able to pull, carry or lift up to 50 pounds frequently and 50-100 occasionally with or without reasonable accommodation

The successful candidate must also pass a pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications:

One year of experience working with machinery in a manufacturing environment

Experience watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly

Experience operating packaging equipment such as robotics, filling machines, case packers, labelers, etc.
