Job Summary and Mission
This job contributes to Starbucks success by enabling a safe and secure environment in our retail store locations. Coaches leaders through incidents that impact safety. Subject matter expert advising on Enterprise programs, scalable and custom solutions. Proactively prepares for planned and unplanned events. Analyzes market trends and consults with cross-functional stakeholders inside and outside of Starbucks.

Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Leadership - Setting goals for the workgroup, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together:
- Directs and leads activities within the assigned area of responsibility.
- In partnership with field leaders, leverages safety and security expertise, coaching for successful implementation of key initiatives and programs.
- Consults to a proactive focus on adherence to standards and procedures. Makes recommendations to improve compliance and performance. Provides recommendations to deter/prevent internal and external theft, fraud, or other criminal activity.
Planning and Execution - Developing strategic and operational plans for the workgroup, managing execution, and measuring results:
- Prepares, communicates, and educates client groups and team on changes in policies and practices within the organization.
- Supports business leadership through consultation on incident management.
- Performs analysis and makes recommendations. Provides timely, concise & accurate reporting.
- Assesses compliance with standards and procedures in line with the current strategy. Identifies and reports areas of potential risk and gaps between actual performance and company standards and procedures.
- Travels within the area of responsibility to support leaders, building capability, and making in-person observations. Attends meetings and works virtually and in-person with the client group in retail stores, focusing on priorities impacting partner (employee) safety concerns.
Business Requirements - Providing functional expertise and executing functional responsibilities:
- Analyzes safety and security issues, proposes solutions, and oversees the implementation of preventive or corrective measures.
- Oversees relations and collaboration of team with law enforcement and government agencies in support of safety, security, and recovery of assets.
- Recommends enhanced company safety and security policies and procedures.
- Responds to safety and security incidents and leads incident management processes by providing real-time support, coach proactive preparation, engage cross-functional teams and supports law enforcement investigations.
- Executes local video evidence retrieval as necessary. Acts as external liaison with law enforcement, civil authorities, legal entities, and peer organization security departments. Communicates and updates other team members as appropriate.
Partner Development & Team Building - Providing partners with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams:
- Challenges and inspires partners to achieve business results.
- Ensures partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.
- Oversees training and development of partners directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions.
- Provides coaching, direction, and leadership support in order to achieve partner, business, and customer results.
- Builds continuous improvement of partner capability, customer experience, and business results.
Summary of Experience
- Investigative or related management (law enforcement or equivalent civilian experience) (5 years)
- Progressive experience in law enforcement, investigations, public or private sector security. (5 years)
- Security consulting and/or data trend analysis in retail, operations, law enforcement, or military environment (3 years)
- Multi-unit retail or restaurant management or equivalent experience (2 years)
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to assemble and file reports with police, courts, and other government entities
- Ability to analyze profit and loss statements
