The Algorithm & Simulation (A&S) Directorate is responsible for algorithm development including Guidance, Navigation, and Control; radio frequency (RF) and electro-optical/infrared (EO-IR) Signal Processing; and missile-and-sensor-level Modeling and Simulation for RMD's broad portfolio of projects, programs and products.

Job Description:
The Autopilot Design Section Lead will have a technical role on at least one program in addition to performing the day-to-day leadership of a group of control algorithm engineers, with the primary responsibility of ensuring that each employee has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and advancement. Leadership duties include performance development and appraisal, salary planning, manpower planning, career coaching, and ensuring adherence to company policies. Candidates will contribute to the technical oversight of employees, monitor program execution, and provide subject matter expertise in direct support of program efforts and proposal activities. The Section Lead will be part of the Flight Sciences Department leadership team within the Algorithm and Simulation directorate.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Note: This position can be Salary Grade G09 (Senior Systems Engineer II) or Salary Grade G10 (Principal Systems Engineer) based upon the applicants qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements of the position.

Required Skills:

* BS degree in Engineering or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics

* Minimum six (6) years of work experience in design and analysis of control algorithms, with at least three (3) of these years in missile systems applications

* Experience with control system integration and testing, including at least three of the following: 6DOF simulation, flight software integration, modal testing, and closed loop frequency response testing

* Experience coding in Matlab/Simulink and C++
* Active Secret Level DoD Clearance

* Knowledge of related disciplines: guidance and navigation; RF signal processing and tracking algorithms; embedded software development and hardware/software integration; system engineering design methods including requirements analysis and allocation, specification derivation and interface control documentation

* Experience with LINUX operating system and/or Microsoft Visual Studio.

* Masters/PhD Degree in an Engineering discipline, Computer Science, Math or Physics
