Whole Life Engineering is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user.

As the Section Leader for Supply & Maintenance Engineering within the Missile Defense & Sensor Program business area, youll directly support the Supply & Maintenance programs, overseeing Logistics, Repairs, Export/Import (EXIM) requirements, Maintenance Planning and Execution, Transportation Activities, and general oversight of these programs approximately 75% of their time. Some travel is required.

In addition, youll lead approximately 20 personnel. This section is being created as a result of a division of the existing 40+ person Supply & Maintenance Engineering section. The Section Leader will partner with the leadership of the existing section to ensure a smooth transition and to drive supply and maintenance best practices and solutions.

As a Section Leader youre responsible for the following:

* Employee performance development and assessment
* Employee productivity improvement (including use of CMMI and Six Sigma)
* Budgeting and manpower planning
* Project cost account management using EVMS
* Cost proposal and EAC preparation.

Other responsibilities will include:
* Oversight of personnel issue resolution
* Ensuring compliance with RTX policies/procedures
* Review and approve timecards
* Ensuring all personnel are properly prepared and trained for the scope of their tasks
* Instituting processes leveraging the best practices across all programs.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Skills:
* 8 years Logistics, Manufacturing or Engineering experience
* 6+ years of experience in the aforementioned areas along with a relevant Master's Degree may be considered for this job
* Experience with proposals, sustainment activities, project management or program management
* Leadership experience
* US Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:
* Past Supervisor, Section Manager experience
* Familiarity with Performance Development process
* Familiarity with staffing and Engineering Labor Forecasting (ELF)
* Experience with the Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) hiring process including writing job requisitions, interacting with Talent Acquisition and conducting interviews
* Ability to motivate team members by providing an open environment conducive for each employee to reach his/her full potential
* RMD Six Sigma Specialist (or higher) qualification
* Experience with radar systems, physical security systems and military communication shelters.
* Familiarity with large-scale proposals focusing on sustainment activities, technical volumes, cost and schedule planning.
* Familiarity with management of program support, subcontractor oversight and customer relationships.
* Earned Value certification
* Effective interpersonal communication skills and a proven ability to handle stressful situations
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across multiple Customer, Program and Functional organizations including preparing and conducting briefings
* Experience with RMD proposal process, including use of SBT, BOE development, and the Program Management Estimate Request (PMER) tool
* Familiarity with the 12 Disciplines in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)
* Demonstrated consistency, accountability and flexibility managing multiple and competing priorities

Required Education:
* Bachelors Degree. 8+ years of relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors degree.
