The PepsiCo PBNA Energy team is comprised of a variety of energy brands for unique occasions, ranging from established $1BN+ brands like Rockstar to smaller brands like Kickstart by Mountain Dew. Marketings role within the Energy team is to accelerate the value growth of this multi-brand portfolio through the development of new, culturally relevant consumer brands and continuing to expand established ones.
The Sports Marketing Manager is responsible for executing our approach to leverage the growing phenomenon of Action Sports to maximize brand and business objectives. The role will also assist in developing and executing our initiatives, branded content and athlete selection and sponsorships.
This role will be part of the Energy Marketing team and wire across various action sports verticals
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement action sports strategies across all pillars of Action Sports
* Negotiation and Execution of athlete contracts of more than 30 athletes
* Create programing and individual athlete strategies for events, grassroots and content.
* Create strong endemic partnerships
* Continual immersion in and monitoring of the Sports industry to identify new opportunities to engage participants, fans and partners
* Assist in planning, developing and executing Energys core Action Sports agenda including events, athlete sponsorships and branded content
* Manage our athletes and partners in action sports pillars. Skateboarding, Snowboarding, freestyle ski, BMX, Surf
* Facilitate status and update meetings to the Dir of sports of marketing
Qualifications/Requirements
* Undergraduate degree
* MBA with a concentration in Marketing or Sports Marketing (preferred)
* A minimum of 5 years prior work experience (if Undergrad degree only) OR 3 years of prior work experience (if Advanced degree)
* 3+ years of relevant marketing and/or sports marketing experience and a strong understanding of brands/brand building within the Action Sports vertical
* Strong knowledge of and passion for sports business and brand marketing
* Ability to effectively collaborate, communicate and influence in a matrix environment
* Demonstrated ability to develop and cultivate relationships
* High level of professional maturity ability to manage up/down and strong interpersonal skills for interaction with internal/external senior leaders
* Strong analytical and project management skills
* Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
