Northrop Grumman is in need of a Production Manager in its Operations department at its New River Energetics (NRE) location in Radford, Virginia.

Position Summary

This position is a full time position as s the front-line supervisor for a production shift. This position can be assigned to any production area of NRE and can have a rotating shift schedule.

Essential Functions

* Responsible for overall safety of operations and shift employees.
* Supervise day-to-day work of a shift of production operators, serving as a link between operators and management.
* Responsible for productivity, policy and procedure compliance, operational safety, environmental protection, labor management, and cost management.
* Must determine staffing on each shift and adjust based upon priority and availability.
* Responsible for employee training.
* Responsible for procedure review, and assuring changes in process are done properly and in a timely fashion.
* Responsible for implementation of new systems and procedures.
* Required to interact with engineering and maintenance on a routine basis.
* Responsible for determining repair needs of the operations and assuring maintenance work is done.
* Responsible for assuring all tools and materials necessary are available to employees.
* Responsible for record keeping and for keeping management aware of all problems, incidents or other information required to operate the area.
* Be an advocate for, and strictly follow, all NRE safety, quality, environmental, and production rules and procedures.
* Responsible for communicating company goals, objectives, policies, and procedures to shift employees and assuring they are understood.

Physical Requirements to Perform Essential Functions

* Bend and stoop frequently.
* Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
* Stand, walk, and climb steps frequently.
* Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
* Ability to operate a computer.

Qualification

Education or Experience Required

* Bachelor rsquo;s Degree preferred; or Associate rsquo;s Degree with 2 years rsquo; relevant experience in a manufacturing supervisory role; or 4 years rsquo; relevant experience in a manufacturing supervisory role.

* Must be a US citizen.
* Must possess a valid driver rsquo;s license.
* Must be able to obtain clearance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and Explosives as an Employee Possessor.
* Must pass RFAAP badging requirements, including background check and drug screening.
