The Senior Manager, Financial Reporting is a key member of the Converse Global Controlling team. The controlling team is responsible for accounting and reporting for our $2 billion, multi-national company and one of the most iconic brands in the world. This role is responsible for the success of Converses month-end close, consolidation, intercompany accounting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate a hands-on leader who understands the intricacies of a large, dynamic, global organization and thrives in an outstanding environment. A successful candidate will be a leader with a track record of mentoring and developing team members, with a passion for delivering perfection in financial reporting, and who has the leadership capability and desire to grow into more senior roles within the function. This role is a first step into the Converse Controlling team and can grow into opportunities within the Converse and Nike group of brands.
The Sr Manager of Financial Reporting will interact and partner with the Nike Global Controlling, the Nike Tax and Treasury teams, the Converse Global Controller, functional leads within the Controllers group, and the Companys business planning teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Be responsible for the month-end close, engaging with the Converse Controlling functional leads to ensure a successful close process. Work proactively with the functional leads to identify and resolve potential accounting or process issues.
* Establish, maintain, and track key performance indicators to ensure the health of the month-end close process.
* Identify and implement strategies for the company to execute its accounting and reporting responsibilities with greater efficiency.
* Lead the team in identifying, researching and resolving complex technical accounting issues, consulting with internal and external partners and implementing new accounting policies.
* Accountable for quarterly financial statement analysis and preparation of the Converse quarterly financial statement package.
* Draft and coordinate the preparation of quarterly SEC disclosures for MD&A, Segment reporting, and financial statement footnotes. Ensure Converses compliance with SEC disclosure requirements.
* Be a leader on the Converse Controlling team on the use of the companys financial reporting tools, including Business Planning and Consolidation for SAP, Business Objects, and Tableau. Strengthen the teams knowledge and proficiency on the use of these tools to improve financial reporting capability and provide greater value to our business partners.
* Be responsible for the companys treasury accounting and operations, including partnering with Nike, Inc. in executing hedges against foreign currency risks and executing treasury transactions.
* Ownership of the management and organization of the master data that is collected in the SAP ERP system.
* Supervise and lead all aspects of the growth and professional development of multiple team members.
What you bring to Converse:
* At least 8-10 years of combined experience in a National or Big Four Accounting Firm as well as in industry working for a publicly held company in a leadership role.
* CPA or equivalent required.
* Prior experience at a management level in a global, multi-currency environment. Experience with a Fortune 500/multinational consumer products company is helpful.
* Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting and validated understanding of the fundamentals of corporate tax and transfer pricing.
* Solid understanding of large company ERP tools, such as SAP or Oracle.
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
* Self-motivated, diligent, detailed and deadline-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to handle several tasks with varying priorities, dedication to quality.
* Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a fast-paced environment at a rapidly evolving company and industry.
