Leveraging the latest development technologies, you'll have opportunities to work across the stack. This includes, but not limited to backend tech such as Docker Containers, Azure Storage & Compute, App Services and Azure SQL. Also, several front ends including Javascript, Angular, TypeScript and more.

Given the breadth of the product and team, you'd have opportunities to work on a number of areas spanning our client applications with PowerBI Desktop, to our global scale PowerBI service in Azure. Challenges include building intuitive easy-to-use features over data, but also scaling them up to massive usage and ensuring world class reliability.

As part of an agile team, you'll work closely with other engineers, designers and product managers to own scenarios end-to-end across the stack (e.g. full-stack developers). We're looking for engineers familiar with, or looking to be trained on agile development practices. Candidates would build experience working on complex technical or architectural efforts, but executing them in an incremental and value-driven way.

You will be responsible for technical planning, implementation, monitoring of feature usage and quality, and sustained engineering for issues/incidents impacting customers. We work closely as a team, often pairing up on feature development, and working closely with Program Managers, User Experience Designers, and collaborating with partner teams.

Responsibilities:

* Work with design and product managers to create excellent end-user experiences and compelling end-to-end scenarios, balancing goals with technical constraints
* Develop and leverage experience working on complex technical design and architectural efforts, and execute on them in an incremental and value-driven way
* Partner closely with software engineers as part of feature teams to code and deliver end-to-end features with Power BI
* Support, operate and maintain world-scale features in the Power BI Service, with focus on quality, reliability and performance

Required Qualifications:

* BS/MS degree in Computer Science, related technical discipline or equivalent years of experience
* 3+ years of professional development experience designing, coding and debugging

Preferred Qualifications:

* Web Development experience such as Angular / React / TypeScript / JavaScript / CSS / HTML5
* C and .NET development (or other Object Oriented language such as Java)
* RESTful API design & implementation
* Visual Studio/VS Code development environment
* Database technologies including SQL or other Relational DBMS
* Experience with Azure/web services a plus
