Join us on the Janus programs as we go explore asteroids and the lunar surface with a set of SmallSat spacecraft. The Janus program is a part of the Deep Space Exploration (DSE) first set of NASA SmallSat missions. The Software Development role provides a challenging position to perform on a small team of flight and simulation software engineers to develop, test, and verify mission critical Flight and Simulation software. This is an exciting position, as DSE is making its first inroads into the SmallSat market with high expectations to continue to develop and expand this line of business.

The Janus Software Developer will report to the Janus Software Manager in the DSE LOB. Duties include:
Flight Simulation Software development in C and or object-oriented C++ for SmallSat spacecraft which include requirements analysis and definition, design, code, unit test, integration, and certification of the software. Additional responsibilities include software integration into testbeds and Janus spacecraft. Problem solver who meets deadlines, communicates effectively, enjoys challenges, can work independently, and has the ability to learn new information and systems quickly. Good teamwork skills; desire to work with high performance software development teams.

Basic Qualifications:
-- Bachelors degree in engineering
-- Technical experience in designing, writing, and testing embedded SW
-- Full life-cycle Software Development experience
-- Previous experience developing embedded real-time C/C++ software in a Linux/Unix environment for use in the VxWorks operating system.
Desired Skills:
-- Experience in Deep Space Exploration planetary space missions, such as Juno, GRAIL, GOES-R, MAVEN, InSight, OSIRIS-Rex, Lucy
-- Experience with DOORS, VxWorks OS, DSE SDE, and ASI MAX FSW
-- Experience developing and documenting software process, procedures and practices.
-- Experience with DOORS requirements management system.
-- Knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and interfaces
-- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-- Demonstrated adherence to high ethical standards and conduct
