Perform Supplier Quality Engineer duties on a variety of programs across all lines of business. Determine quality requirements for purchased parts, develop inspection plans, support IPT meetings, disposition nonconforming material, act as liaison between suppliers and Lockheed Martin in regards to quality issues, facilitate/review/approve supplier corrective action requests, support both internal and external audits, support supplier visits of both a proactive and reactive nature as required, attend program reviews and other duties as assigned. May be assigned specific suppliers that he/she will be responsible for with regard to surveillance and quality concerns.

Lockheed Martins Archbald facility is a full-service Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) mission area that provides design, manufacturing, engineering, and field service and support to its domestic and international customers. The site supports two product lines: Precision Guided Systems (PGS) and Nuclear Systems. The PGS line of business designs and manufactures air-to-ground weapon and training systems for the US Military and international allied customers. It supports two primary sets of customers in our Nuclear Systems line of business. On the military side, it has provided safety-critical nuclear instrumentation and controls (I&C) systems for naval submarines and aircraft carriers for over 60 years; on the commercial side, it designs and manufactures I&C products for the commercial nuclear power industry.

The Locale: Archbald is located in Northeastern Pennsylvania and is part of Lackawanna County in the Blue Ridge Mountain range. The entire region is about 100 miles from both New York City and Philadelphia. Archbald is a suburb of Scranton, PA. The city of Scranton hosts five colleges and universities: Lackawanna College, Marywood University, The University of Scranton, Johnson College, and The Commonwealth Medical College and one technical school, Fortis Institute. Where can you get to from Archbald? Philadelphia is 2.5 hours to the south, and NYC is two hours to the southeast. Binghamton, NY is an hour north of Archbald. The Pocono Mountains and Lake Wallenpaupack are nearby. The Northeastern PA region offers an excellent cost of living and is a great place to live.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college.

A technical background in Mechanical and Electrical hardware designs, capable of performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems.

Facilitate supplier corrective action responses and ensure that suppliers are documenting root cause and corrective actions properly.

Ability to focus on continual improvement practices using causal analysis tools to drive corrective and preventive actions.

Be able to effectively communicate with suppliers, Quality Program Management and Procurement representatives as well as other functional departments.

Willingness/ability to travel to suppliers (primarily domestic at approximately 20%) to perform process surveillance and/or when supplier issues arise.

Knowledge and understanding of critical design attributes and auditing/surveying capabilities.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and support engineering activities related to special process surveys and supplier issues.

Strong communication (both oral and written) will be necessary to support the assignment.

Ability to obtain a secret security clearance, therefore must be a US Citizen.
Desired Skills:
Bachelor's degree in a technical related field is a plus, due to technical requirements related to the daily tasks.

A basic understanding of the MFC SAP business system.

Lean Six Sigma Certification (Greenbelt) experience working in a dynamic environment.

Strong understanding in AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.

Audit experience.

Strong problem solving skills.
