SOF GLSS is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and complete modifications on various rotary wing platforms in support of our Special Operations Forces Support Activity (SOFSA) Program. As an electrical engineer, you will work as part of an engineering team based in Lexington, KY. This program is critical to the success of US service men and women deployed throughout the world. Our mission is to rapidly and properly equip the SOF community and its war fighters with the best possible systems and equipment anywhere in the world. The team is focused mainly on modifying existing aircraft and integrating modified components (primarily electrical and mechanical) into various platforms based on customer specifications.
The electrical engineer will be responsible for electrical design, integration of airborne avionics equipment and modification tasks for the Rotary Wing (H-60s, H-6, H-47s). The electrical engineer will assist in multi-functional product development for ruggedized military processing solutions, including electromagnetic interference testing, and platform system integration. The electrical Engineer will collaborate with the lead project engineers, chief engineer, and engineering design teams to ensure that systems meet the SOF needs and that the resulting product operates as intended. Electrical engineering tasks include development of schematics, cable routing, removal of existing components and installation of new RF counter measure systems, lasers, antennas, transmitters and radios to ensure product will meet requirements. The successful candidate will be flexible, motivated, dedicated, detail-focused, team-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 2 year experience of various helicopter upgrades
Knowledge of Analog Circuits, design and analysis.
Experience with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, DVMs, etc. is required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance
Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment involving both manufacturing and test, have
demonstrated ability to act independently, and demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office software
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance
Desired Skills:
Expert in Analog AC/DC low voltage electrical systems
Excellent testing and troubleshooting skills
Able to complete detail electrical load analysis
Experienced with MIL-SPEC wiring repair including coaxial, fiber optics and shielded wiring.
Familiar with military requirements such as MIL-STD-1399, MIL-STD-704, and MIL-STD-461 (EMI and EMC)
Knowledge of MH-47 block upgrades and wire routes.
Experience with electrical modification of MH-60
Knowledge of Electrical Safety Standards
