The Project Manager supports the Obsolescence Deputy Assistant Program Manager (DAPM) in managing obsolescence issues associated with 53K Development & Production. The scope includes coordination of Diminishing Material Sources and Manufacturing Shortages (DMSMS) activity across internal and external stakeholders, support of proposal activity, and program execution to ensure the 53K DMSMS program meets cost, schedule and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing 53K Obsolescence Activity
Developing and maintaining business metrics
Coordinating DMSMS mitigations and issue resolutions in support of production needs
Coordinating pre-proposal activities (Planned Future Actions) with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
Managing Risks and Opportunities associated with DMSMS activities
Oversight of contract efforts, engineering changes, purchase requirement generation and part procurement
The Project Manager is part of the Program Management team and will report directly to the Obsolescence DAPM. There will also be cross-functional coordination with Program Planning, Finance, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations. This individual will be one of the primary points of contact for Avionics and Flight Controls obsolescence issues and will also be responsible for preparing presentations, briefing the NAVAIR customer and internal leadership.
Additional responsibilities include coordination of internal resources, development of detailed project plans, measurement of project performance, and performance of risk analysis, all in support of flawless execution. As the CH-53K transitions into production, technical issue resolution is paramount in the quest to deliver the only helicopter in the world with the capability to travel 100 miles ship to shore with 27,000 lbs. all day long. As a Project Manager, this individual will be directly involved with, and relied upon, to provide these unparalleled capabilities to the United States Marine Corps.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
Desired Skills:
Project Management (PM), Control Account Management (CAM), Business Acquisition Team (BAT), and/or proposal experience preferred
Assertive and results oriented individual with strong analytical skills
Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
Strong interpersonal and management skills
Strong customer and supplier interface skills
Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary environment including interface throughout the entire organizational structure of the company
Demonstrated capabilities in managing complex aerospace programs or projects
Familiarization with Avionic Systems, Flight Controls, or Aircraft Assembly preferred
Ability to work and integrate with technical team members to understand all aspects of the product being developed/produced and the earned value implications.
