Description
The senior designer operations coordinator role is responsible for assisting, in all aspects of secondary label projects, from the beginning of design turnovers to final printed labels.
Specifically, this position will:
Design turnovers and Retouching
* Participate in the review with Design on collection turnovers to ensure we capture Design intent
* Review supplied assets
* Evaluate and understand/clarify content details (design layout, color callouts, color targets, components, etc.
* Participate in turnovers to photo retouching
* Review retouched color and provide comments
* Review final images for production
* Create final match prints/targets for the printers
Pre-press and print production
* Responsible for all color targets being turned over to the printers
* Participate in print specification meetings
* Create program scheduling and naming
* Work closely with printers and packaging
* Evaluate all color draw downs and contract proofs
* Press run approvals
* Provide final press approval comments to the printer, designer and packaging
* Distribution of final approved production labels
Qualifications
* 3-5 years of retouching, production design, or technical experience
* Must have strong Adobe Creative Cloud skills
* Color theory experience and knowledge required
* Knowledge of print production and appropriate file set up
* Press approval experience for both on-site and virtual press runs a plus
* Experience directing and working with outside suppliers
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability to problem solve, manage and prioritize their own projects
* Strong communication skills with demonstrated success in fostering effective relationships
* Team player with the ability to work in a highly collaborative design environment
* Demonstrate curiosity and desire to learn
* Be an effective listener
* Artistic eye for retouching
* Must be able to travel to various suppliers as needed
* Degree required or equivalent experience
