Job Description



Located within the San Francisco Bay Area, Gilead discovers, develops, and markets life-changing medicines. Within the Research Department of Gilead, the Research Informatics group implements data visualization and scientific workflows that support scientific discovery. We want to expand the team of developers in Research who create systems, maintain systems, and execute data science. If you can combine an appreciation of science with programming and would like to contribute to the discovery of life-saving drugs, Gilead would like you to join us. At Gilead, you can learn research workflows as they evolve in our pursuit of novel cures for pernicious disease. If you are comfortable with a scientific environment, you will collaborate with team members and scientists to support therapeutic projects, data systems, and our high-performance infrastructure. Suppose you are willing to learn about laboratory information systems, chemical informatics, and software languages (such as C and the scientific visual programming language Pipeline Pilot). Your experience:

BA or BS in a scientific or technical discipline with experience in programming / configuration / end-user support. Good verbal and interpersonal communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Must be able to work closely with scientists, understand business processes, and work effectively across Research. Experience in supporting research systems or chemical informatics systems like Dotmatics or the visual scientific programming language Pipeline Pilot is a plus.

Gilead will use the candidate's Bachelors or Masters degrees and experience to determine the level.
