Risk Management is at the core of Payments done well! We are hiring curious, driven, and courageous experts to transform our business unit to enable eBay's next generation Payments strategy. Our focus is to ensure the integrity of our marketplace for buyers and sellers who transact with us every single day. The scope of our charter includes Risk Management Strategy, Policy, Decision Management and Policy Operations.

We are currently looking for a hardworking and self-motivated individual to join the team. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic, agile unit that will be responsible for post transaction disputes and chargebacks as part of the Buyer Risk team. You will offer a strategic perspective, sound business judgment, deep analytical capabilities, and a collaborative working style. You will possess strong intellectual curiosity, and a passion for achieving practical business impact. Skills in problem definition, rigorous analysis, and recommendation development will also be essential. You will have extraordinary interpersonal skills, initiative and integrity as well as a passion for investigation and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

* Develop Risk policies / strategies for Buyer Risk Domain to understand and mitigate fraud on the platform

* Understand impact of risk policy on eBay's ecosystem (trade-off between loss mitigation and good user experience)

* Responsible for monitoring performance of portfolio and individual policies implemented

* Establish effective cross-functional relationships with Payments, Product, Engineering, Decision Science and Analytics teams to build and operationalize robust risk solutions to address emerging business issues.



Qualifications

* 5+ years of experience in risk management and/or payments in marketplaces or retail environments

* Experience with SQL, SAS, Python, R, Unix, Hadoop, Strategy Tools (Knowledge Seeker or similar) and Experimentation

* Deep understanding of risk management in multiple areas: Fraud Risk (account take over, stolen financials), Credit Risk (Bank Payments), abuse, collusion risk, etc.

* High emotional intelligence, a can-do mentality and a creative approach to problem solving

* Strong organizational skills and excellent follow-through

* Ability and willingness to travel as needed
