Become a Strategic Planning Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will be part of a group that is involved with updating SCEs strategy annually, leading company-wide strategic projects and helping to supervise and coordinate critical initiatives across the company. Examples of these types of projects include evaluation of new utility business model options and evaluating new products and services. These projects might have significant financial and regulatory impact on SCE and require close coordination of large cross-functional teams as well as regular involvement of SCEs senior management.

A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
* Be engaged overseeing and participating in operations such as: program management, coaching and mentoring, process improvements, performance management or project support, the position will be highly involved in day to day operations.
* Performs SWOT and other analyses, applying common strategy frameworks to develop business strategies that shape the direction of the company and individual business functions.
* Translates strategies into goals and meaningful plans. Works with other operating units to align their plans with overall company direction, reconciling discrepancies and recommending new courses of action.
* Establish cross-functional teams to scope strategic projects (sometimes subprojects within larger initiative), analyze key issues, perform financial analysis, and identify potential solutions and recommendations. Develops implementation plans to execute strategies and transitions projects into business for execution, as appropriate.
* Monitor, track, and report on corporate strategic initiative progress. Identify dependencies and gaps.
* Directs and conducts research and information gathering on key market, regulatory, and competitive trends across electric industry. Filters materials and synthesizes into key takeaways about impacts to our business. Publishes regular reports and presents these findings to senior management.
* Performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The Essentials
* Seven years of strategic planning, utility policy, or utility markets experience.
* Bachelors degree in public policy, political science, environmental, engineering, or business.
The Preferred
* Masters degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
* Strategy experience in comparable industries that have gone through significant deregulation.
* Experience leading cross-functional projects with significant long-term implications on business.
* Project management skills including effective resource and budget planning, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovations.
