The MSS Transformation team works with all MSS businesses and Citi functions, including Legal, Compliance, Finance, Risk and O&T; to identify, mobilize and execute responses to regulatory and cross-business transformational projects. The primary mission of the team is to design and implement integrated solutions and sustainable capabilities in the most efficient and effective way for MSS and its clients.
The Volcker rule requires that Citi have robust trading desk procedures and controls in place to ensure compliance with the various requirements that apply to our trading activities. The Volcker Program Management Senior Analyst works on multiple work-streams assessing and delivering business process and supporting changes as part of the global response to the Volcker Rule.
This is a critical role that delivers integrated solutions in line with regulatory expectations, working closely with MSST management and colleagues in the front office, risk and other control functions.
Key responsibilities:
* Trading Mandate Operations function- generation and maintenance of trading mandates, controls and business support for desk owners.
* Work closely with Risk, IT and Citi Businesses to ensure accurate product, business, limit and risk information are captured in each trading mandate and stored correctly
* Track hedge effectiveness issues daily and ensure these are resolved and communicated to the relevant global teams.
* Lead initiatives for Trading Mandate technology systems within the Volcker Rule Office
* Conduct various control processes including daily Risk Mitigating Hedging (RMH) testing, qualifying subsidiary analysis (QSA), permitted product list (PPL) controls.
* Onboard control testing & procedures and transition testing to offshore teams in India through training sessions and daily/weekly communications.
* Analyze risk reports and update RMH supplements to ensure desks are trading within the risk limits and are demonstrating hedge effectiveness in adherence with the Volcker Rule.
* Perform ad-hoc requests for senior management and executives including PowerPoint decks, Permitted Product List analysis and Internal Audit (IA)/Regulatory requests
* Contributing to the successful delivery of projects in line with overall MSS Transformation book of work
* Contribute to the creation, design and implementation of trading desk business processes, supporting documentation and Quality Assurance (QA) deliverables taking into account the detailed trading activity of trading desks across all asset classes and market sectors
* QA of business process and supporting documentation with reference to project / regulatory expectations
* Assist with the project management and delivery of key changes across a number of sales / trading desks and functions including Risk, Legal, Finance and Compliance
* Identify, prioritize and proactively manage dependencies, risks, exceptions and issues
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
* Hands-on experience in implementing structured business/operational processes and associated business requirements documentation
* Exposure to analyzing legislative and regulatory texts, and associated legal analysis
* Understanding of global markets trading products (Fixed Income, Equity, Currencies & Commodities) and/or securities services (Prime, Collateral, Clearing, Custody, Fund Services)
* Understanding of Front Office trading processes across the full trade lifecycle within a large bank/dealer
