SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing the Commodities/Grain Elevator group with timely, accurate information. Preparing month-end close, journal entry preparation, monthly reconciliations, GL account analysis, inventory reconciliations, periodic financial reporting and special projects as assigned for Tyson Grain Elevators. Assist in preparing and recording journal entries and maintain appropriate supporting documentation. Prepare account reconciliations with appropriate support. Investigate and resolve reconciling items. Compiles and analyzes financial data. Respond to inquiries from other departments as assigned. Maintains and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded and entries to general ledger accounts are accurate and adheres to internal control policies and procedures. Validates system output for internally created statements and inventory valuation. Support Sales, Billing and Account Receivable, Settlements and Accounts Payables processes at the grain elevators.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Accounting degree preferred.
Experience: 2+ years experience; must have in depth knowledge of cost accounting and sales accounting methods. Computer Skills: Requires standard computer skills; proficient systems knowledge to include but not limited to AGRIS, SAP, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Special Skills: Relationship management and communication skills. Basic knowledge of all business cycles, systems and processes that impact Sales and Operations such as Order to Cash, Demand Planning, Sales Accounting and Operations, Live Poultry Operations, Poultry & Prepared Plant Operations, Purchase to Pay, Payroll, and Shared Services.

Travel: Less than 5 trips per year.
