El Segundo, CA

Job Description

Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) is seeking a Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Architect in the Operations Analysis Modeling & Simulation Organization to design and develop simulations to conduct mission level and system of systems trade studies and analyses to support RIS strategic pursuits. The M&S Architect must be innovative, creative, and highly motivated in order to develop computer models and simulations that effectively capture system and system of systems effects of RIS products in complex threat environments. The M&S Architect will need to model products from the entire Raytheon portfolio of leading edge, high-tech mission systems including multi-function RF (AESA), multi-function EOIR, High Energy Laser, Electronic Warfare, Battle Management, and Communications systems to construct capability requirements against a sophisticated and ever evolving threat. Models will generate analytical solutions to identify technology gaps, create technology roadmaps, and develop requirements.

The M&S Architect will partner with system and mission analysts to model advanced concepts using commercial, government developed, and internally developed high fidelity federated models and simulations. Candidates will work with technology SMEs to translate key system attributes and algorithms into models that can demonstrate the operational benefits of these systems and concepts in complex operational scenarios to represent a wide variety of effects chains.

The M&S Architect will be responsible for defining the M&S architecture for Operations Analysis, Virtual Prototyping, and Live/Virtual/Constructive simulations. The candidate will generate requirements for new models & simulations or enhancements for existing models and simulations. The M&S architect will direct the design, development, simulation verification, and ensure that the resulting M&S infrastructure will meet the objectives specified by the Mission Architect or Mission Analyst.

The candidate will also be expected to develop professional networks with other M&S engineers across Raytheon to support cross business unit initiatives. The candidate will provide technical leadership and technical mentoring to multiple programs as a subject matter experts on modeling, simulation, and analysis.
