Job Function

Qualcomm China is looking for experienced embedded SW engineers interested in developing software for mobile devices. Specifically, the position involves developing embedded software supporting Camera, camcorder and multimedia functions of CDMA, UMTS, and GSM handsets.

* Camera end-to-end use case design and feature implementation
* Debugging and resolution with existing code base
* Cooperating with global development teams
* Cooperating with external customers
* Onsite customer support

Responsibilities

* Camera sensor driver, VCM driver, flash driver, PLD gating

* 3A algorithm improvement and bug fix

* Camera FRM/HAL support
* Still image driver developing, including JPG, PNG, GIF, etc.
* New Image processing algorithm development and bug fix

* Camera Power and performance profiling and optimization

* Support customer for the customization features

* On-site for customer urgent issues support

Skills/Experience

* 2 - 5 years experience on android camera development area.
* Strong knowledge of and experience in Linux Kernel, Device Driver Model
* Strong C & C++ programming and debugging skills required.
* Experience in Linux camera sensor driver bring-up.
* Experience in Camera framework
* Experience in Camera ISP pipeline
* Experience in Camera performance and power optimization
* Knowledge of 3A algorithms, tuning experiences and familiarity with MIPI, I2C, GPIOs, V4L2 a plus.
* Experience on Image Signal Processing.
* Experience in Multimedia software development engineering for Linux based embedded systems.
* Strong communication skills - able to understand and explain highly technical information in a clear and concise manner.
* Willing travel to customer sites and other Qualcomm office locations to co-develop next generation smartphones.
* Exceptional English communication skill.
* Outgoing, positive and optimistic personality

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

2+ years Software Engineering or related work experience.

2+ years experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

4+ years Software Engineering or related work experience.

2+ years experience with Database Management Software.

2+ years experience with API.

2+ years experience working in a large matrixed organization.

1+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Director level and above).

Physical Requirements

Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to mile.

Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.

Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).

Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.

Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
