We are looking for an Associate Merchant to join our team for APLA (Asia Pacific and Latin America) territories at our Nike WHQ campus! The ideal candidate will have strong merchandising, communication and business analytical abilities. You can think like a consumer. You are a self-starter and creative problem solver with a strong collaboration and partnership with the teams you work with. You have effective verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations in English. You instill trust, act with courage, embrace and lead changes when it happens. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
This Associate Merchant will be working with the team to build member-led assortment frameworks each season based on assortment opportunities. You will facilitate and manage tools, process and calendar to deliver seasonal product strategy to cross functional partners and territory teammates. Youll support Gender merchandisers and planners by Driving Strong and Frequent Collaboration. You will also represent the needs of APLA consumer in close partnership with Gender merchandisers to Influence Product Opportunities, Gaps, and long-term consumer concepts. Youll participate in the seasonal buy processes from First Forecast to Buy Review Seasonally with DSM to help inform consumer demand, margin, revenue and investments.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
Your immediate merchandising category team, associate peers from GEO, and global merchandising associates
WHAT YOU BRING
* Bachelors degree in Business, Merchandising or equivalent
* 2-3 years experience in merchandising, product management, category management, planning, retail or other relevant experience
* Ideally would have previous experience in the APLA market or experience dealing with a lot of different cultures, currencies and backgrounds
* Strong Product Merchandising & strong Business Acumen
* Ability to Understand Retail Math
* Good knowledge of Marketplace insights, assortment strategies, in-season business management
* Strong Negotiation, Presentation, Communication and Influencing Skills
* Strong Teamwork & accountability
* Footwear or apparel experience is ideal, but not required
