WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Nike Consumer Direct Marketing is looking for a Director of Email to define and drive the channel vision & strategy for how Nike can to bring outstanding brand experiences to life for our largest and most direct marketing channel! As part of Consumer Direct Marketing and the Platform Marketing team, your mission will be focused on crafting experiences centered on a 365 lifestyle of sport, built around the needs of the athlete* and at the pace of sport.
This role will lead all aspects of the development and execution of strategic email tactics to drive new levels of engagement and retention. A core proficiency in this role is someone who is a subject matter expert of all aspects of email (ie. Inbox placement/deliverability, channel standard methodologies, new emerging trends) and deep knowledge email capabilities required to improve channel performance.
This role requires a strategic mentality demonstrated through innovative thinking and expertise to drive key decisions that are driven by data, consumer-centric and move the brand forward as a leader in digital. Were looking for a demonstrated digital marketing leader who is creative, collaborative, and eager to develop and lead a highly effective team!
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
You will be accountable for creating and evolving the email marketing strategy and managing the overall health of the program. To achieve both brand and business goals, you will be focused on defining ways to drive next level engagement and continuously optimize all aspects of the program (ie. Audience targeting, email frequency, content formats, email contact-ability etc) through a data approach. Every day, core responsibilities will include being responsible for the email calendar and programming, segmentation, consumer journey mapping, robust learning agenda, email forecasting and ongoing program reporting.
Email plays a key role as part of our seasonal plans, and requires strategic thought-partnership to define ways to amplify our brand plans and advise content creation with data & insights to ensure channel-right stories are built to help us meet our targets. This will call for close partnership with the Platform Marketing leads (Nike.com, Nike App, NRC/NTC) to develop cohesive consumer journeys.
You will also represent North Americas email priorities and specific geography requirements with Global to advise prioritization of new features & capabilities. This includes executing NA pilots for new email capabilities to ensure flawless execution and operational readiness inclusive of new triggers and personalized communication features in partnership with the 365 Member Comms team.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
Email is a critical channel for our Nike Direct Digital Commerce (NDDC) business and is highly cross-functional in nature, requiring collaboration and partnership across both the brand and business function. Daily interactions include Consumer Insights & Analytics, Audience Selection, NDDC platform business leads and Creative/authoring teams to read & react to both channel and overall business performance.
You will also have a deep connection across Consumer Direct Marketing (CDM) functions inclusive of retail, 365 O2O, Member Comms to enable connected consumer journeys across Nikes eco-system both online and offline. You will serve as a key partner to our global NCP teams to help inform the digital product and roadmaps to ensure the most important email capabilities are delivered.
WHAT YOU BRING
* 8 years of relevant digital marketing experience for an e-commerce retail company, with strong preference for direct email experience
* Results driven and analytically minded, comfortable with data and deriving insights to action
* Ability to masterfully prioritize the details and the big picture with the ability to quickly adapt to the changing needs of our brand, business and move at the pace of the consumer
* Excellent oral and written communication skills including meeting facilitation and making persuasive presentations to senior leadership
* Outstanding leadership and mentor skills to lead functional team and experience working cross-functionally in a matrix organization
* Natural digital curiosity with in-depth awareness and passion for learning the marketplace, consumer trends, evolving email landscape and industry standard methodologies.
