Description:
Set up and run all CNC manual tool change horizontal milling machines, and conventional drilling and tapping machines.

Sets up and operates CNC manual tool change machines, performing such operations as drilling, milling, boring, tapping, etc; on any and all types of work within the scope of the machine. Selects and sets proper CNC program to insure proper operation of the machine. Shapes, sharpens and installs proper cutting tools, selects proper speeds, feeds and depth of cut to maintain proper quantity and quality standards. Has first piece approved by inspection. Makes adjustments during production run as required to maintain quality parts. Uses various hand tools such as files, hammers, wrenches, etc; and various measuring tools, such as micrometers, verniers, depth gages, indicators, etc. Must understand the cutting properties of both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Cleans up machine, equipment, work area, etc. Must have a thorough knowledge of the correct procedure to follow and precautions to take when performing his work in order to prevent injury to himself/herself and/or others. Receives written and/or verbal instructions, interprets prints, sketches, etc. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Training on 2nd shift may be required
Basic Qualifications:
5 years of experience performing free setups of CNC milling equipment including fixture set up, part leveling and indication of squareness and parallelism of parts and fixtures.

Proficient with editing and troubleshooting CNC programs and using FANUC controls.

Must be proficient in reading and understanding of complex mechanical blueprints.

Reading, comprehension, and shop math (trigonometry, metrics conversion) skills.

Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. and use step ladders to load/adjust parts and tools on machines.
Desired Skills:
Radial drill press operation

Experience programming CNC equipment

Experience programming with GibbsCAM

Experience with ProE/CREO/Windchill Solids Modeling

Excellent knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
