Job Description

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you'll help build a meaningful engineering discipline, combining software and systems to develop creative engineering solutions to operations incidents. Much of our support focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure and reducing work through automation. Youll join a team of curious problem solvers with a diverse set of perspectives who are thinking big and taking risks. As an SRE, youll be focused on running better production applications and systems.

In this role you'll use both creative and critical thinking skills to maintain application systems that are crucial to the daily operations of the firm. You'll work collaboratively in teams on a wide range of projects based on your primary area of focus. While learning to fix application and data issues as they arise, you'll also gain exposure to software development, testing, deployment, maintenance and improvement, in addition to production lifecycle methodologies and risk guidelines. Responsibilities:

* Primarily, troubleshoot priority incidents and facilitate blameless post-mortems on impactful incidents
* Partner with development teams throughout the software life cycle ensuring sustainable software releases
* Partner with the business and operations teams to drive efficiencies and automations in our environment
* Participate in 12-hour day shift schedule with alternating Wednesdays
* Participate in the 24x7 support coverage as needed
* Develop, test, and debug automated tasks (Apps, Systems, Infrastructure)
* Perform analytics on previous incidents and usage patterns to better predict issues and take proactive actions
* Build and drive adoption for greater self-healing and resiliency patterns
* Lead and participate in performance tests; identify bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization, and capacity demands

Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a software engineering or operations support
* Experience in at least two or more modern software languages (e.g. Python, Java, .NET, etc.) with respect to designing, coding, testing, and software delivery
* Adept in the development of automated tools, systems, and services in multiple technology domains
* Adept in change and incident management, escalation and notification practices
* Advanced knowledge of one or more infrastructure components (e.g. networking, cloud services, orchestration tools, containerization, compute, and storage systems)
* Proficiency in service-level changes to a system and troubleshooting components
* 5+ years of application support experience
* 3+ Years of experience in application development
* Experience with Automation, WebSphere Application Server, Web servers (IHS, Apache, IIS), Control-M, Splunk, Grafana, Python, Shell scripting (Unix/Linux), Control Center
* Experience with Cloud-based applications, deployment, monitoring and operations, Docker, Kubernetes, DB services such as Cassandra, ORACLE, DB2
* Experience with both Unix-based and Windows Operating systems
* Solid understanding of file transfer protocols and authentication methods
* Solid understanding of ID and certificate management methodologies
