Surgical PreOp Registered Nurse Full-time Weekdays 6A 6:30P

The PreOp RN develops, coordinates, and implements a plan of care based on patient assessment, knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia plan, physician orders, application of relevant policies/procedures and AORN/ASPAN guidelines.

Assesses patient prior to surgery

Administers pre-operative medications and starts IVs

Ensures that operative and informed consents are signed and in order

Incorporates teaching into all aspects of nursing practice

Medical City Plano is a full-service, Magnet-designated 600+-bed acute care hospital with more than 2,070 employees. Qualifications

What you need to be successful:

ADN required / BSN preferred

Texas RN license or compact license is accepted

Current BLS and ACLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required

Must have at least one (1) year PreOp or Outpatient RN experience in an acute care hospital -OR- May consider an RN with 3 current years of Med Surg experience in an acute care hospital
