Responsibilities
The Weather Forecaster will provide support to the Program Manager and Mission Planning (Lead) as required. Responsible for providing detailed weather support to enable 24/7/365 global U-2 operations. Contractor will assist in the development and integration of relevant weather data into advanced systems and technology; integration of all weather environmental data from a variety of sources to assess current and forecast weather environment in order to issue weather products, alert bulletins, and forecast anamoly assessments.
Requirements
* Three (3) years experience in weather forecasting and/or meteorology
* Three plus (3+) years experience in interpretation of weather satellite imagery, climatology reports, computerized weather prediction models, and Doppler weather radar imagery
* Three plus (3+) years experience in analyzing various types of weather elements such as clouds, wind speed, fog, visibility, atmospheric pressure, etc.
* Three plus (3+) years experience of oceanographic, meteorological and space atmospheric conditions and hazards
* Three plus (3+) years experience of real time weather programs and computer interfaces
* Three plus (3+) years of the principles, concepts, and theories of meteorology and the standard practices, methods, and techniques of the occupation sufficient to perform observations, forecasts, and analysis
* Three plus (3+) years experience of advanced analytical principles, concepts, and methods to produce detailed analysis of complex information/ situations attained from multiple sources (to include database manipulation)
* TS/SCI clearance is REQUIRED
* BS degree in Meterology plus five years of related experience
