Directs the organization's accounting functions. Establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. Prepares financial reports and presents findings and recommendations to top management. Ensures accuracy of financial reporting and adherence to all related hospital and corporate policies and procedures including required Internal Audit controls and SOX guidelines. Responds to internal (facility and corporate) and external (Vendors, Fiscal Intermediary or Other Governmental) Accounting related inquiries with courtesy and confidentiality. . Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
Responsible for managing the Accounting Department operations and staff which include the functional areas of Payroll, Accounts Payable and Financial Accounting. Ensures accuracy of financial reporting and adherence to all related hospital and corporate policies and procedures including required Internal Audit controls and SOX guidelines. Education: BBA or BS with emphasis in Accounting preferred.
Experience: Two to three years hospital accounting experience including supervisory experience preferred. Experience with personal computer applications, such as MS Excel and Word, is required. Must be able to use a calculator/ 10-key. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Requires nine to twelve months on-the-job training to become familiar with hospital policies and procedures and the interrelationship of accounting to the overall operations of the hospital.
