This position is responsible for leading the strategy and daily operations for inventory control, flow management and workforce planning areas within the Braselton Distribution Center. Responsibilities include developing and supporting all strategies in these functional areas, providing leadership to the teams and meeting or exceeding performance objectives. This includes measuring and reporting performance of operations, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting the growth of the distribution network. Leads 3 Directors and their teams to ensure inventory control, flow management and workforce planning processes, systems and people operate and support overall facility efficiencies and performance.

Wave Planning/Flow/Routing and Workforce Management (35%)

* Responsible for overall communication of forecasting/planning workload for wholesale/retail/eCom. marketing channels. Act as a liaison with corporate partners with regards to business plans, service expectations, and expense management. Effectively manage competing priorities.
* Direct and teach operational partners workforce planning logic, techniques and methodology to ensure appropriate staffing to support productivity/UPH and service requirements.
* Direct and review building performance results and variances with operational leadership on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Identify and review gaps between plan and actual and facilitates discussion with operational leadership to identify cause and implement improvements to eliminate these gaps.
* Manage the flow of work through the facility (daily volume plan by area) in order to meet/exceed well defined service level agreements (SLA). Partner with the wave team to ensure waving of orders supports SLA, MHE capabilities, and efficient work flow.
* Direct and manage the daily routing of our wholesale customers orders to ensure shipments are meet SLA objectives.
* Implement changes necessary to avoid customer compliance shipment rejection and/or chargebacks.

Inventory Control and Compliance (20%)

* Identify and lead implementation of processes related to regulatory compliance (Foreign Trade Zone, CTPAT certifications, etc.), inventory control, and inbound/outbound operations with Carters and/or external partners.
* Responsible for effectively communicating inventory accuracy, productivity, and issues on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis to wide audience that includes executive and hourly level associates.
* Responsible for ensuring all inventory control procedures and reports meet financial and regulatory requirements.
* Own and manage product slotting strategies for e-Commerce operations.
* Develop customer quality compliance program and manage compliance team to verify and improve order accuracy, monitor and support adherence to SOPs, challenge and reduce chargebacks, develop and maintain relationships with corporate partners.
* Lead and manage team members to ensure vendor compliance and PO integrity for inbound shipments to the facility. Partner, as appropriate, with internal and external teams to identify issues, ensure the facility is appropriately credited for non-compliant impacts, and develop improvement plans.

Business Operations/Supply Chain Technology Team (20%)

* Develops and maintains business requirement specifications, partners with IT to develop systems deployment strategy, process specifications, training, business acceptance and roll-out methodology.
* Leads the design, development, implementation, maintenance, improvements and support of supply chain infrastructure in terms of physical infrastructure, automation systems and equipment, processes, and standards.
* Minimizes company risk and maintains compliance in area of environment, health, and safety (EH&S).
* Leads planning and execution of all system upgrades and material handling equipment (MHE) implementations and support.
* Manages external contractor and vendor relationships.
* Leads innovation, including research, of new supply chain technology.

BUDGET AND STAFF MANAGEMENT (25%)

* Partner with GM and finance team to develop annual budgets and interim forecasts.
* Understand and properly manage all necessary variable and fixed expenses in order to improve cost per unit while maintaining high levels of service, quality, and morale.
* Provide coaching, feedback, and development to team of 3 Directors and staff (40-60).

Experience and Skills

* Bachelors degree in industrial systems, finance, logistics, supply chain management and/or operations management preferred. Masters degree is a plus.
* Minimum 5 years experience with large warehousing and distribution environment with focus in planning and inventory control- preferred
* Minimum 5 years supervisory experience, preferably in a distribution, manufacturing or consulting environment.
* Experience with warehouse management systems and labor management systems (Manhattan Systems WM/LM for Open Systems preferred).
* Keeps informed of technical changes and industry trends.
* Advanced proficiency using MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS Project & Visio.
* Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
* Advanced knowledge of facility layout, building design and material handling systems.
* Advanced knowledge of Warehouse Management System and Labor Management System functionality.
* Strong leadership, collaboration and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities required. Must be able to influence up and down in organization.
* Strong writing skills with experience documenting design solutions and knowledge of work measurement techniques engineered labor standards.
* Exceptional analytical skills and ability to pay attention to detail.
* Strong project leadership skills supported by project management tools and techniques
* Able to develop and deliver presentations to managers and executives.
* Must be self-motivated and a team player.
* Retail/eCommerce experience preferred

* Use general office equipment to include computer, printer, copier, telephone and calculator
* No travel restrictions.
* Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
* Able to work multiple consecutive days as needed during peak periods
