Position: Solutions Architect II
Location: Chicago, IL
Position Responsibilities:
Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support. Analyze application portfolios, identify dependencies and common infrastructure platform components, and access migration feasibility. Architect hybrid AWS and on-premises solutions. Guide customers on architecture choices and inform them of the best practices to adopt AWS efficiently and cost-effectively. Ensure success in building, migrating, and deploying applications, software and services on the AWS platform. Brief senior executive team on customer progress of adopting the AWS and define future platform requirement for on-boarding and migration to AWS. Author AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers. Share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solutions architect community. Engage with developers, system administrators, software architects, project manager, directors, and C-level customers to define cloud strategies and deployments. Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and ensure that solutions are designed for successful deployment on AWS.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Position Requirements:
Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered, or as a Database Administrator, Support Engineer, or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and five years of experience in the job offered or related occupation as equivalent to the Masters and one year of experience. Must have one year of experience in the following skill(s): working with cloud technologies; working with software development tools and methodologies; presenting to both large and small audiences including Executives, IT Management, or developers; designing, implementing, and consulting with distributed applications; architecting, provisioning, and deploying applications to public cloud environments or on-premises virtualized environments using C++, Perl, Python, Java, Ruby, Node.js or equivalent Object-Oriented programming language; and experience with database architecture, performance tuning, big data processing, mobile app development, or Big Data/Hadoop.
