Weve been hard at work developing a new, fully-electric delivery system Amazon Scout designed to get packages to customers using autonomous delivery devices. These devices were created by Amazon, are the size of a small cooler, and roll along sidewalks at a walking pace. We developed Amazon Scout at our research and development lab in Seattle, ensuring the devices can safely and efficiently navigate around pets, pedestrians and anything else in their path.

The Principal Program Manager needs to solve complex challenges to scale field infrastructure for Amazon Scout. To do this, you will need to think creatively, develop and test a variety of approaches, all the while ensuring high standards are maintained. In this role, you will influence a cross functional teams to deliver an innovative delivery service.

A successful candidate will have a passion for creating high-performance logistics networks, a strong technical problem solving ability, excellent project management skills, and the ability to effectively influence decision-makers at all levels. You must be able to deliver results in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. In this role, you will be responsible for:
Delivering the field infrastructure required for Amazon Scout
Presenting operational metrics regularly to the senior leadership team in order to continually improve operations
Partnering with internal business units, and global real estate to effectively manage the Amazon Scout delivery network
Coordinating with engineering teams to develop infrastructure that optimizes the performance of the Amazon Scout delivery service.
Working within time constraints to meet business critical needs and managing multiple, time-sensitive and high priority initiatives simultaneously
Systematically escalating problems or variances in the operating plan to the relevant owners and teams, following through to resolution to ensure plans are delivered
Navigating through ambiguity, managing and coordinating multiple project assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, accepting ownership and accountability of the process and delivering on commitments

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Completed Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics or similar field from an accredited university OR knowledge of Amazon's delivery network
7+ years program management experience, including a salaried, hourly and agency workforce, in a logistics, fulfillment, manufacturing, or distribution environment
Experience with performance metrics and process improvement
Demonstrated experience in working in cross functional organizations
Strong analytical capability; track record of digging into data and finding solutions for a variety of operational problems
Must be highly proficient in written and oral communications and be able to produce concise, relevant, strategically driven documents and presentations to leaders
Must have an ability to manage and execute multiple priorities in a timely manner across multiple projects
Must demonstrate the ability to influence internal and external organizations to achieve corporate goals
Youre goal-driven and target-oriented, always able to step back and appreciate the bigger picture
Must hold a valid passport and be willing to travel. Domestic travel required up to 30% of the time
Candidates must be flexible to work a variety of hours as business demands

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Completed Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Operations Research or similar field from an accredited university
Experience managing third party resources on a regional/national scale
Proven track record of problem solving skills and ability to use analytical tools is required, while analytic experience in the areas of transportation or network management is strongly preferred
Developing or managing complex logistical processes
Construction project management experience
