As a Support Engineer on the Photos Operations team, you will provide tier 3/4 production support and would also be responsible for providing multi-faceted service support to Photos product development teams. You will be tasked with triaging and solving problems for Amazon Photos customers and its large suite of software applications and services. Your solutions will affect our customers directly!
Primary job responsibilities include:
Creating and maintaining tools and automated solutions to support product development teams;
Developing monitoring solutions to support deployments, testing, and product launches;
Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and implementing fixes for internally-developed solutions in a variety of languages (primarily Python and Java);
Providing assistance to Customer Support teams in rectifying customer issues;
Improving operational excellence across Amazon Photos teams
You should be detail oriented, have strong verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational skills. The ideal candidate will be able to juggle multiple tasks at once, be able to work independently and can maintain professionalism under pressure. You should be able to identify problems before they happen and implement solutions that detect and prevent outages. You should be able to make sound judgments, work to improve the customer experience, and get things done.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of development or technical support experience
Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
Experience scripting in modern programming languages
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
2+ years programming experience in at least one scripting language or another modern programming language (i.e., Java)
3+ years of experience in the Unix/Linux operating system
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in Python;
Experience working with AWS and distributed computing technologies;
Debugging and troubleshooting skills, with an enthusiastic attitude towards supporting and resolving customer problems;
Debugging and troubleshooting skills related to mobile, desktop and web applications;
Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and relational/non-relational data management
