Amazons global fulfillment network enables any merchant in any of the geography ship items that you order on Amazon, to any place on earth. There are a variety of ways in which we can acquire items from vendors to our warehouses, ship items from one location to another, and several intermediate locations through which the package travels before reaching the customer. There are millions of such packages, each with different attributes, and different delivery requirements. What results is a highly dense graph of source, intermediate and destination nodes, with arcs between them representing possible paths for packages, with different costs and times along each arc. Accounting for all these constraints, and maximizing the number of shipments shipped, while minimizing cost, providing a variety of delivery options and maximizing delivery performance is Transportation Engineering's primary focus.

Our team, Sort Tech (Sortation Technology), builds the technology that enables manual and automated sortation, containerization, loading and unloading processes at over 2k nodes in Amazons worldwide transportation network - Fulfillment Centers (FCs), IXDs (Inbound Receive Centers), Sort Centers (SCs), Amazon Air Gateways and Delivery Stations (DSs). We also build visibility platforms that enable operations managers to monitor and refine their volume, staffing and building configurations to optimize their operational processes.

Key responsibilities for this include:
Defining and implementing innovative transportation software solutions
Translating operations experiences and PRFAQ into clearly defined product requirements
Defining and executing user acceptance testing, drive adoption of new products to operations partners
Anticipating and resolving issues that impair the product/tech teams ability to deliver
Role is global in nature and will work with teams in other markets
The ideal candidate has excellent writing, editing, time management, and communication skills. Youre able to own content projects from start to finish, understanding trade-offs while mitigating risks and measuring impact.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

BA/BS degree in computer science, technical writing, or a related field or equivalent experience
4+ years product owner/program/project management is required
Strong written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills
Experience working with product managers, designers and stakeholder to ensure that clearly defined product requirements
Experience developing operational process and technologies to drive quality

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

MBA is preferred
Engineer background
Experience in online retail is a plus
Passion to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Experience in customer satisfaction or quality initiatives
Ability to think and act both strategically and tactically
Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results in an Internet business
Bias for action and ability to juggle multiple projects
Able to work in a diverse team
