Amazon is looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer II to join the Amazon Care team. Amazon Care is a passionate team working to build a best-in-class healthcare product designed to make high-quality healthcare easy to access.
We are looking for a BI Engineering Manager to build a BI platform for Amazon Care. The goal of the platform is to serve the data needs of the entire organization by delivering reporting solutions, self-service analytics and visualization solutions. The platform will provide deep insights to support business analysis and decision making across the organization. This is a high visibility role that will be interfacing with senior business leaders, product leaders, and other stakeholders on a regular basis to define the roadmap and gathering requirements. To succeed in this role, you will have strong technical acumen and experience developing reporting, BI, and analytical solutions using data warehouses.
Main Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of engineers and analysts
Collaborate with engineering teams and partners to acquire data necessary to support reporting needs
Work closely with stakeholders to build and maintain the roadmap for business intelligence
Work closely with product managers to support business reporting needs for all product capabilities
Build and deliver high quality data architecture to support business reporting, data science, and product needs
Build infrastructure to automate regular reporting and support self-service access to data and tools for adhoc data needs
Adopt and implement best practices in reporting and analysis including data integrity, analysis, validation and documentation
As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be working with a unique and gifted team developing exciting products and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
In this position, we are looking for a BI Engineer with experience in working on complex products. The ideal candidate has a demonstrable track record of success in delivering features and products. As a BI Engineer, you will work closely with internal stakeholders to define metrics through your deep understanding of the business and create self-service dashboards/reports to bring visibility into health of the business. You will exercise your technical skills in SQL, Python or other data analysis tools in order to produce reports and build dashboards that are flexible and information-rich.
You will work closely with data engineers and software engineers to generate usable metrics to satisfy business stakeholder needs. You will go beyond report generation and invest in automation. You should proactively mentor junior team members to grow them.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical discipline
4+ years of industry experience in data science, analyst, BI or other roles in big data environments
2+ years of experience using SQL, Python, R or other analysis languages
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Quicksight or similar tools
* Excellent data presentation skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
* Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies
* Strong passion for automation and scale
* Understanding the data needs in healthcare domain
* Be self-driven and show ability to deliver on ambiguous projects
* Strong experience with SQL
* Experience designing and building data infrastructure for automated reporting
* Experience in directly working with business owners to understand requirements and develop analysis to solve problems
