Sr. Software Project Engineer - Seeding and Tillage Job

Job Description

AGCO, Hesston is looking to develop a new and agile team focused on innovative technology and automation for Seeding and Tillage. The Senior Project Software Engineer for this team will be part of the entire process from concept development, design, testing and completing the process into production. We are looking for candidates who are self-starters, willing to make decisions to ensure progress, and are passionate about helping design and deliver innovative solutions to help farmers feed the world

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO:

* Develop and maintain advance control algorithms with a diverse and globally located team in an Agile environment
* Document and communicate the progression of various systems in a detailed and organized manner
* Support existing image processing control algorithms and tuning techniques
* Provide support in the maintenance of existing models and contribute with the development of next generation systems
* Support the integration of new sensors into existing and new products.
* Provide prompt support to field development teams in regards to data acquisition, instrumentation, testing procedures, and testing techniques
* Support in-field activities such as advance data collection, system tuning and optimization, system troubleshooting, demonstrations, and training
* Assist with the planning and prioritization of long lead tasks
* Ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget

REQUIRED:

* Solid understanding of network communications, including CAN, Ethernet, WiFi, and BroadR-Reach
* Experience with standardized electronic communication protocols
* Familiarity with mobile machinery communication protocols, such as UDS, ODX, OTX, SAE J1939, and ISOBUS
* Familiarity with Mechanical Design and Electrical Harnessing
* Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
* Agriculture knowledge, preferably Seeding and Tillage
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to address and resolve issues in an objective, fact-based, professional fashion
* Motivated self-starter who can relate well to a diverse multidiscipline development team
* Critical thought into decision-making, with minimal oversite

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

* Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering, or related field
* 5-10 years related experience
