POSITION PURPOSE:

The primary purpose of the Leave Administrator is to serve as subject matter expert to employees and manages on leave of absence policies and processes including disability, FMLA, military, unpaid medical, California Pregnancy Disability Leave, CFRA, Paid Family Leave, and Intermittent Leave. In addition, the role will support the Leave Administration team as needed and work on special projects as assigned.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

* Manage the relationship with employees and managers to ensure established leave policies are administered correctly and in accordance with federal and state requirements for leaves of absence.
* Serve as internal contact for claims issues/inquiries to the point of resolution.
* Collaborate with Human Resources, Labor Relations, and management on return to work requirements.
* Process leave of absence approvals, rejections, and returns with established plan benefits.
* Communication with employee's Human Resources and/or manager on the status of claims/leave of absence and return to work expectations.
* Interface with the disability vendors; short term, long term and workers compensation.
* Research and reporting, as requested, for analysis of leaves of absence.
* Provide Leave of Absence guidance and direction to employees, HR Partners, Managers and Payroll.
* Partner with LOA Coordinator on various leave issues and concerns.
* Maintain highly confidential employee Personal Health Information and files. Ensure HIPPA compliance.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Education Level: Bachelors degree preferable in Human Resources, or related field.

Experience Level:

Three or more years LOA experience in a large organization. Three or more years of a human resources or benefits operation.

Skills and Experiences:

* Strong Knowledge of PeopleSoft HRMS application or similar software.
* Strong Knowledge of State and Federal Laws, HR and Benefits.
* Strong Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, USERRA, HIPAA, and requirements of various states.
* Solid knowledge of leave management systems.
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to have the appropriate level of interaction with customers interpreting policies, procedures and technical applications in a positive fashion.
* Must be highly skilled with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
* Proven team player with excellent customer service skills.
* Must be able to manage confidential information.
* Solid judgment and decision-making skills to ensure all tasks are performed timely, legally and ethically.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

* Sits for extended periods of time.
* Bending, stooping and twisting required periodically.
* Uses calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
* Workday is fast paced.
