Description
The Account Specialist, Solvents is responsible for supporting all elements of the Solvents order-to-cash process while delivering materials on time and maintaining customer relationships. This involves working with internal and external stakeholders including customers, Sales, Transportation, Finance, and Refining.
Responsibilities May Include
* Providing daily customer service to Solvents accounts, acting as front-line contact for issue resolution
* Managing customer purchase orders and reviewing customer requirements
* Determining validity of orders, verifying compliance with the master data that governs the transaction
* Verifying that orders meet established shipping guidelines and advising customer if changes are needed
* Validating invoice to customer delivery paperwork to verify product, quantity, and pricing are correct
* Scheduling and building orders, coordinating time and shipment details with terminals and refineries and, when necessary, determining best shipping location for product sourcing needs
* Managing order changes or cancellations
* Communicating with Credit Department for release or hold of orders
* Determining capability of meeting customer special instruction requests, entering and/or updating information directly into SAP
* Communicating with other departments, ensuring customer requirements are met
* Preparing and sending response letters for blanket purchase order acknowledgements
* Tracking all orders to ensure delivery is made on time and customer is invoiced
* Advising Technical Group of data requests affecting customer specifications
* Confirming customer setup information in SAP master data has been entered accurately and in a timely manner
* Maintaining customer files and all associated records
* Resolving all post-sale inquiries such as pricing, logistics and shipping documentation issues
* Fulfilling on-call responsibility on a weekly rotation for emergency requests, handling the call to resolution and completing an on-call report the next business day
Position Requirements
Basic/Required:
* Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
* High school diploma or GED equivalent
* Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and applicable mainframe applications (e.g., SAP)
Preferred:
* Bachelor's degree
* Strong organizational skills
* Adept at time management and handling multiple priorities and issues simultaneously, with proven attention to detail
* Communications: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure common understanding with others
* Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as a team member to work issues and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Collaboration / Teamwork - must be a team player focused on contributing to the organization in achieving results
* Ability to positively interact and establish relationships with internal/external customers
* Ability to influence, network and deliver on commitments
* Must be effective at problem identification, evaluation and resolution
* SAP proficiency in SD and MM modules
* Ability to work under stress and maintain a positive attitude when faced with unexpected situations
* Knowledge of Specialties business
* Knowledge of various modes of transportation (e.g., truck/rail/barge/vessel)

Phillips 66 operates as an energy manufacturing and logistics company. It operates through four segments: Midstream, Chemicals, Refining, and Marketing and Specialties (M&S). The Midstream segment transports crude oil and other feedstocks; delivers refined products to market; provides terminaling and storage services for crude oil and petroleum products; transports, stores, fractionates, exports, and markets natural gas liquids; provides other fee-based processing services; and gathers, processes, transports, and markets natural gas.
The Chemicals segment manufactures and markets ethylene and other olefin products; aromatics and styrenics products, such as benzene, cyclohexane, styrene, and polystyrene; and various specialty chemical products, including organosulfur chemicals, solvents, catalysts, and chemicals used in drilling and mining. The M&S segment purchases for resale and markets refined petroleum products consisting of gasolines, distillates, and aviation fuels primarily in the United States and Europe. It also manufactures and sells specialty products, such as petroleum coke products, waxes, solvents, and polypropylene. In addition, this segment generates electricity and provides merchant power into the Texas market. Phillips 66 was founded in 1875 and is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
