Job Description

Unique opportunity to work on GM's flagship & rapidly growing BET (Hummer EV) and Autonomous portfolio at Factory Zero. Electrified propulsion is a rapidly developing area of automotive engineering, deploying multiple cutting-edge systems and features to the vehicle. The DVT Coordinator position will be single point contact and provider of daily support for the Assembly Plants production released Assembly Verification Group (AVG) tools and software. Provide problem solving leadership and lead efforts to increase plant vehicle testing pass rates. Develop quick containments with robust long-term solutions to problems as they arise. Present the assembly plant and engineering staff with clear problem definitions and technical guidance on complex problems with regards to electrical issues and plant vehicle testing systems. Support launch of new products in the plant.

Scope of Responsibilities:

* Supports meeting Factory Zero FTQ performance goals, including DRR > 95% for BIQ4 certification
* Uploads data files for Dynamic Vehicle Test (DVT), Next Generation Flash Test Tool (GBFTT) and all associated parts with data files (ECM, BCM, HMI etc.). Supports FTQ and EFTQ 94.5% Electrical initial pass rates.
* Drives the process by working with the AVG group and Engineering to diagnose DTC codes that can impact the plant quality metrics
* Manages the alignment performance and equipment. Manages DRV (Designate Reference Vehicle) to eliminate variation from station to station. Maintaining a high direct run.
* Maintain electrical testing stations (test revisions, software upgrades, virus updates, equipment updates).
* Lead implementation of new test tools.
* Work with Assembly Verification Release Engineer (AVRE) from headquarters to identify continuous improvement items in the areas of AVG software.
* Manages headlight aim performance.
* Monitors the external drive audits and maintain steering wheel angle and pull force performance.
* Use the Manufacturing Engineering Reporting System (MERS) to identify and eliminate process/product variation.
* Act as single point contact for problem solving infrastructure as it relates to Assembly Verification Group.
* Coordinate AVG equipment and process training to on-line operators.
* Use MERS System to correlate DVT performance to plant warranty and JD Powers data.
* Problem Solve using Red X or other structured problem-solving methods on components associated with data files.
* Run PTRs and coordinate changes in parts with data files with Engineering, Materials for successful production implementation
* Work with Launch Team on new vehicle builds. Support IRT Co-Chairs as launch progresses into saleable builds.
* Share lessons learned with Engineering to prevent repeat design or build issues.

Additional Job Description

Qualifications:

Required:

* Four Year Degree in engineering or technical field
* 2+ years of experience
* High level of Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
* Understand vehicle wiring, module communication and electrical diagnostics, along with vehicle technical experience
* Exercises independent judgment in managing complex and ambiguous tasks with minimal input from supervisor
* Solid analytical/problem solving skills with capability to identify solutions to unusual and complex problems
* Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead diverse/cross-functional teams
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Demonstrated planning and organizational skills

Preferred:

* Graduate level degree in engineering or technical background
* Vehicle Engineering experience
* Manufacturing Production Floor experience
* Red X Technical Problem Solving certification
* Vehicle Technician experience
* Global B experience
* MERS and GSIP proficiency

Job Level: Lateral 6 or 7
